bluntblade
Path of Heaven has Land Raiders and Sicaran Battle Tanks being deployed via modified Stormbirds, but I'm wondering about slower and larger deployments. Do we have named varieties of bulk landers that can deploy things up to the size of Mastodons? Sulemain
Titans are deployed by "coffin ships" as I recall. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/328676-fluff-question-transporting-tanks/#findComment-4590045 Share on other sites
Lord_Ikka
If I remember correctly, Thunderhawk Transorts can carry a couple of Rhino-chassis tanks under the fuselage. Supe robot gangster #1
Off the top of my head I can't think of any named classes of astartes bulk landers. I always got the impression however that the larger classes of stormbirds filled this role? bluntblade
I'm thinking for big deployments, like most of a Legion making planetfall. We know from Galaxy In Flames at least that these are used. Iron Hands Fanatic
I've always assumed that super heavy vehicles are carried by variants of the Argos / Argo Drop Ship: http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2012/8/12/400806_sm-Aircraft,%20Lander,%20Space%20Craft,%20Space%20Marines,%20Thunderhawk,%20Warhawk.jpg Considering it can carry 6 Rhino / Land Raider sized vehicles, I'd imagine modified versions could transport a single Falchion/ Fellblade/ Glaive/ Mastodon, or a pair of Typhons/ Cerberus/ Spartans Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/328676-fluff-question-transporting-tanks/#findComment-4590543 Share on other sites

Iron Hands Fanatic
Ha, it'd too big to be anything other than a fortification :P Then again, a deep-striking fortification that brings a handful of tanks with it.... Jolemai
Haha Btw, where'd you dig that picture up from? Having poor Google-fu today. Nevermind, found it. Space Marine Landing Craft. A larger version of the Thunderhawk Transporter. Happily, the Legion I'm writing for this story are the Lightning Bearers, who have their own Forge World - essentially a licence to make up vessels as I go along (within reasonable limits and with Athrawes' approval or at least lack of protest) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/328676-fluff-question-transporting-tanks/#findComment-4592363 Share on other sites
Huggtand
I think you can go nuts regarding the bigger transports Most books just say that armour and large bodies of the army comes down in bulk landers/transports but they never describe them.
