Scale pics please.

Hi guys,

 

So I want to work on a death korps display piece and I was just wondering if any of you could help me get some scale pictures of both a chimera and a rhino and also the measurements (lenght, height, width) of each tank (don't mind the turret, just the body) so I can be sure on how to fit it best.

A Rhino has the following dimensions:

width: 3.25" (including exhaust)

length: 4.75"

height: 2" (may be higher with Stormbolter etc)

A Chimera is:

width: 3.5"

length: 4.75"

height: 2" (again not counting turret)

Old school Chimera is 3.75" wide

So pretty much the same size (see last picture!) unless you're looking at the older Chimera. Pictures:

Thanks WF. I just realized I wrote Rhino instead of Leman Russ . But I might need to use a rhino in a later project anyways, so it's ok. Would you mind giving me the measurements of a Russ, please?

A Russ is about:

 

width: 3.15"

length: 4.6"

height: 2.15" (not including turret)

This is interesting. I always assumed the Rhino was significantly smaller. I suppose width goes a long way here, but they're pretty close!

If you're used to the older Chimera, yeah there's a noticeably difference - probably looks more than it is though due to the extra pokey outy bits a Chimera has.

Lore question, Are those weapons along the back of the chimera on the tank itself and controlled by the men inside, or are they ports the men inside stick their guns out, like how armored trucks got shotgun slots?

I think they're on the tank. Cause rules let fire only lasguns from there. Model's own weapon can be fired only from the top hatch.

Indeed, e.g. shotgun vets still shoot lasguns from the chimera unless they shoot from the hatch (with melta or plasma of course :) )
