I'm damn certain Roland Barthes had to say "No, that's not what I meant with it at all!" at least once while discussing his essay. On a half related note, there's also a funny story by Asimov in which a time-travelling Shakespeare fails a class about his own work.

 

Echoing what Rohr said, I don't see how it (Barthes, or Foucault's work for that matter) applies in any way.
