So I decided to amend this original post and use it as a showcase of sorts. Figure it's better than clogging the place up with different posts, ya? So anyway, here are my things...

A Chaplain, some Chosen, and an Imperial Knight walk into a bar...

 

...Okay, not really, but I've finally finished a whole batch of things, including an Imperial Knight, and felt like showing off.

 

First up is a BaC Chaplain, painted to match the Alpha Legion kill team I made a while ago.

After which I've got a batch of DV Chosen I decided to do some kitbashing with. It's my second batch of them, and they are just a bunch of fun to customize, even if it takes a bit of work. Included with is a Cataphractii Champion, because why not, right?

But finally, the best part. Oh, was this beast ever so much fun to build, magentize, and paint. I call it Antarean, a sworn defender of a distant Forgeworld which has turned traitor. You can see a Skitarii of that very forgeworld hanging out in the shadow of the Knight as well.

How did you do the power fist wielder that's converted from a bolter guy? Also what's in his other hand?

 

Sweet batch of conversions you've got there. I'd be stealing the banner bearer if I used banners, that's genius.

@Dragonlover - That was just a simple and patient application of a hobby knife. Basically all I did was chop off the right arm just beneath the shoulder pad, then trim-to-fit a spare Raptor pfist I had in my bits box. For the left hand I just grabbed a spare pistol and hand and put them in place. 

 

And hey, with a simple wave of the hand, that banner bearer can easily serve as an Apostle or Sorcerer. All manner of possibility.

Cheers dude, I've been trying to work out what else to do with that body. The slot in the torso is a right pain.

@ElDuderino - Heh, thanks. It's a thought I've considered, but at this point my workbench is pretty much empty. Just a daemon prince and a couple handfuls of R&H left.

@Asamodai - Thanks. For you - or anyone else wondering - that blue is just some cheapo Createx pearlescent paint. The stuff airbrushes perfectly, and always coats well. It's the same paint (plus green and silver) I use for my Alpha Legion.

...as the bar erupts into a brawl, a Warpsmith and some Alpha Legionnaires arrive with a Daemon Prince...

 

...yeah, the fun continues. More time at the workbench, less models waiting to be started. I had me some of those event-exclusive Forgeworld models, so I decided to take one of them (you'll never guess which) and whip it up into an impromptu Warpsmith.

But lastly, I have this big guy. I needed a Daemon Prince. I bought a Daemon Prince. I wanted him to belong to Tzeentch. I did some light converting to make him belong to Tzeentch. It makes me happy. I hope it makes you all happy too.

So I'm back again with another image dump of things. Take a look if you're so inclined. A lot of this has been done for a while, but a relocation from Florida to Chicago saw me putting off on finishing some details and uploading my work. Regardless, here it all is. A lot of this stuff has been me playing with all my spare bits to put together models on the cheap. That, plus finally attending to backlogged models, has led us to today. So, shall we start with some lascannon Havocs? Sure.

I had a realization that I have no jump troop HQ models as well. Do I know if I'll need or use them? Not sure, but I made 'em anyway.

From there I worked on some Chosen squads. I had all these special weapons laying around, so I finally got work on kitting them out. First are some Scourged ready to blast through armor with melta.

After these guys I decided to branch out. I wanted to try out some different color schemes, and some different basing ideas. So for all of my flamer needs, I turned to The Pyre.

But in the end, I turned back to my latest modeling pursuit: Alpha Legion. I just enjoy painting them too much not too! They are the source of my plasma Chosen, but I gave them some special love. They aren't made from leftover bits, but instead converted from a Deathwatch squad.

I like 'em. You should like 'em too. And finally, I realized that other than Autilon I didn't have any HQ models for the Hydra. So I made one, fairly simple and plain but it works. With him are just a couple heavy weapons from leftovers, and it rounds out today's image dump.

So there we go. I'll be back again later, though who knows when. Thanks to a generous friend I have a new Contemptor waiting for paint, as well as some Mark III marines and Tartaros Terminators coming in the mail. Until then, uh... see you later, I guess.

So hi again. More things to show off. The move from Florida to Chicago has been quite life changing. But I still found time to paint... somehow. So yeah, here I'll show off the fruits of my labor. Though, as I'm posting these, I almost feel like I should change the title of this thread... I have no Scourged to show off. Still plenty of Chaos, though.

 

Anyway, Abaddon finally got some paint. Don't know that I'll ever use him, but hey... always fun to have him around.

Another painted HQ joining the ranks is Ahriman. The old metal one, to be exact. He'll go nicely with my small squad of metal Rubricae.

And then come more Alpha Legion. Because I cannot stop building and painting these guys. Every time I finish a batch I'm always so satisfied. These are a rounded out bunch of Mk. III troopers, with a couple special weapons and a heavy bolter. In addition to the sarge I decided to mess around a bit and whipped up a fist/claw HQ for fun. Not sure how I feel about him (and all the other fist/claw Lords I have) with the new edition, but hey, rule of cool.

Marching in with those chums is a set of Tartaros terminators. They're just so sleek! The loadout may not be ideal, but it's more for show than anything anyway.

But to round out today's post I bring you all no more Heretic Astartes, but a horde of renegade mortals. Finally, my tide of Changemongers has been painted. I've had them for ages, and was saving them for this years ETL (along with Abby and Ahriman), but alas... Anyway, there's the standard command squad, with a refurbished Chimera behind them. Some Enforcers are here as well, to give the jabbering masses that extra bit of incentive to push on. Naturally, a group of Tzeentch renegades would be incomplete without some psykers, so I have those too. And then a platoon of  expendable bodies for the grinder.

But my favorite is for last. What is it about the Decimator model that is just so... amazing? So lethal and chaotic and menacing. I love it. So much so that I splurged on the full weapons loadout. So happy it's painted.

Anyway, yeah... that's it. My workbench is officially empty. It hasn't been empty for... oh, wow, years. I figured when that day came I'd be content and satisfied. I'd lean back and go "yup, I've done some good work. I can stop now." And yet, all I can think now is "what will I paint next?" And you know... I don't know what! Any thoughts on what to buy next?

Short and sweet little update here. Just have some Warp Talons put together and ready to show off. They're vaguely Tzeentch-themed, I guess I could say. But, for me, that's pretty much the norm of things. And yet, my next project is Plague Marines... Irony. Anyway, here's the shiny pictures.
