Mixing C:IA and C:AS

I was taking a look at combining a SoB detachment from C:IA with one from C: AS.  The ability to use a 25 point HQ choice puts some room in my usual Double CAD 6 Dominion list that allows me to tackle its two real weaknesses.  Namely lack of anti-psyker ability and the absence of St. Celestine.  Take a look.

 

C:IA Inquisitorial Detachment: 65 Points

 

Ordo Hereticus Inquisitor - Bolt Pistol, Carapace Armor, Liber Heresius, Null Rod

 

C:IA SoB Detachment: 975 Points

 

HQ - Ministorium Priest

 

Elites - Sororitas Command Squad - 4 x Celestians with Condemnor Boltguns, 1 x Hospitaller, Repressor DT

 

Troops - Battle Sister Squad - (5) 2 Flamers, Rhino DT

 

Troops - Battle Sister Squad - (5) 2 Flamers, Rhino DT

 

Fast Attack - Dominion Squad - (5) 4 Meltaguns, Repressor DT

 

Fast Attack - Dominion Squad - (5) 4 Meltaguns, Repressor DT

 

Fast Attack - Dominion Squad - (5) 4 Meltaguns, Repressor DT

 

C:AS Combined Arms Detachment: 810 Points

 

HQ - Saint Celestine

 

Troops - Battle Sister Squad - (5) 2 Flamers, Rhino DT

 

Troops - Battle Sister Squad - (5) 2 Flamers, Rhino DT

 

Fast Attack - Dominion Squad - (5) 4 Meltaguns, Repressor DT

 

Fast Attack - Dominion Squad - (5) 4 Meltaguns, Repressor DT

 

Fast Attack - Seraphim Squad - (5)  2 x Two Hand Flamers

 

The idea is to dump the Inquisitor and Priest into the Sororitas Command Squad to go Psyker Hunting.  With the Null Rod to protect them from psykers, feel no pain from the Hospitaler, War Hymns and four Condemnor Boltguns with the Celestians AoF  to get the Null Rod into close combat they might just surprise someone at a pretty cheap price.  Otherwise Dom everything to death and mop up with the BSS in rhino's while Celestine and her Seraphim burn the usual suspects.

 

The nice thing is that the Condemnor's swap out for Meltaguns if you don't have a psyker problem, but with a few characters to tank for them and a Hopsitaller for fnp, if you want to swap her out you get a fifth meltagun.  I through the Liber Heresius on the Inquisitor for the possibility of special rules on the Command Squad.  I'm still not sure how it all sorts out for C:IA units riding in each others DT's.  If they allow it then the Command Squad can get scout. 

 

I'm going to look at C:IA's move of the Command Squad to Elites as the fix for Celestian Squads.  They should just swap the names, a much better unit.  Slap them in a Repressor and have a good time.
