Strata
For a short while now i've had a small bug that's been bothering me to paint something black. I've ended up, mostly though fluff settling on the Raven Guard being the prime test legion. So i went ahead and i fished out an old unpainted marine that i had sitting around. While i would have liked to use a less.. ornimented one, i had to make due with what was available to me at the time. I would like to get some ideas, mostly to the black armour, if anything could be added to make it better. And i am more so going for Forgeworlds method of painting, where not everything is popped out with edge highlighting. http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2016/12/21/845265_sm-T1.JPG http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2016/12/21/845266_sm-T2.JPG http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2016/12/21/845267_sm-T3.JPG http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2016/12/21/845268_sm-T4.JPG Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/328980-raven-guard-test/ Share on other sites

Claws and Effect
For Raven Guard, I like to just leave the black....well, black. There's something in the fluff to the effect of their armor absorbing light rather than reflecting it. Strata
Nice! More please  I'd love to show off some more, but unfortunately I don't have any right now. Though I do have some mk 4 I was holding onto for another project. Maybe I should reperpous them. For Raven Guard, I like to just leave the black....well, black. There's something in the fluff to the effect of their armor absorbing light rather than reflecting it. I do want the idea to be that they look black, but I can't help but find that just leaving it as a black Basecoat looks unfinished, even with other details blocked in.
