We're creating a 2-file option for download on devices but for the direct link to hear some of your fellow fans from this board, as well as fellow authors like AD-B here is the mighty episode for holiday listening. Enjoy!

Hi, splitting into 2-part option as well but the single file is below

Ep 176 - Reflections on a Decade of the Horus Heresy Megasode

Here it is...a special tribute to a decade of the Horus Heresy phenomenon from Horus Rising published in 2006 to this, Christmas week of 2016! This labor of love took Kenny over 30 hours in total to plan, record, edit and prepare but we bring 22 brief interviews with the authors from Black Library themselves, and from around the world podcasters, fans, painters and designers to reflect upon the juggernaut that is the Horus Heresy and celebrate! This massive episode is over 8 hours long, but SO WORTH IT! Below are the guests in order and at least one form of contact information to follow further (more given in the interview).

We're off next week and will be back in early January. Happy Holidays to all and thanks for the continued support as always!!

eight hours? sounds amazing, but i'm hoping some kind and patient soul will post a summary...

Oh man, what a waste that would be. It's not about "leaks" but rather the experience of the phenomenon worldwide with its authors and a variety of guests. It's long, I know, and 2 4-hr files are better for devices, but someone trying to take notes from this would be doing themselves and everyone a disservice.

fair enough, i get that this is a huge piece of work and more something to be experienced than bullet pointed. as a casual 40k reader i'm just not that dedicated, so rather than look for a watered down version, i'll leave it be.  sounds impressive though, congratulations.

totally fair msn-wink.gif and some tidbits may make their way across but if you're not a HH nut this probably isn't for you.cool.png

The good side of HeritorA?

DarkChaplain as well?

Maybe I lacking some background information but why them?

Because of their reviews (DC) and urgent need to comment everything, everywhere (Heri)? ^^

Nevertheless, great work was done here! Maybe I'll get some time to hear some interviews. The last one with Aaron was entertaining. :)

They're very active with reviews (like, to an insane levelmsn-wink.gif ) so I asked them and a couple other active fans who know the Heresy to join the mix of authors and podcasters.

Ok, thanks for clarifying. ^^

Didn't want to be impolite. Pure curiosity. msn-wink.gif

It always a pleasure to talk about Heresy, especially then I get my acc back to discuss something.

It's 10 years - 10 years of epic BL stories and good stuff. Next year W40K will go into the 30s - and the Fall of Cadia would be the first glimpse of epicness that awaits us.

Usually my second half is here, while I'm working and writing reviews.

Wow, Kenny. I knew this would be long, but over 8 hours? Insanity! That's audiobook length! Fantastic job and thanks for putting it all together. You outdid yourself, especially with getting that stuff so organized.

Time to hear how embarrassing my headset problems turned out in the recording. Obviously they'd break during that.

Kenny tuned it and fixed as much as he was able. He organized so many people to it, that's simply awesome. He has done an amazing job!

Yeah, 30 hours included 9 recording (not counting the bonus censored.gif I can't share after recorder was turned off because of spoilers of NDA contracts but THAT was a personal Xmas bonusmsn-wink.gif ) but once audacity decided to work I cut many inarticulates, pauses, etc. out cuz every second mattered to be able to fit on hosting site. Feel like Peter Jackson must have 16 years agolaugh.png

You guys all did great and the order of interviews seemed to work out best that way. The surprise is out now but opening with Dan Abnett returning to the show was a special treat for all. thx again and happy holidays. You can listen to one or the two smaller MP3s over the holidays and enjoy. It was quite an undertaking but glad we all made it happen. Thanks again to posters on here, LJ for starting us off strong at the beginning and AD-B for an epic closing.

edit: oh, one more thing I'm very glad people already have picked up on. This isn't just a look a books and models. This phenom has brought countries and communities together, folks from outside an GW IP completely have joined the series and the charity work, community generosity on all fronts has raised thousands of dollars for children's health, research, veterans' care and more. No matter where you are in the hobby, this episode aimed to capture it all and I think we all were surprised at some point on how incredible the HH phenom has been. Plus....I look forward to FW renting a warehouse to house the Siege of Terra diorama in a few years.laugh.png
