I reached a great pause point so I thought to supplement my addiction, I would post here what I have accomplished an my plans!Goal force of 100 custodes! This will be a compilation of foot soldiers, the tanks (heavy/scout/transports), eventual jet bikes, custodian terminators, the contemptor, and if they do it an imperial knight or two!Of course...hoping to be lead by the emperor himself.Things like the Caladius I am guessing have 2 bodies for piloting so I am counting that towards my final goal. I currently stand at 35 bodies with plans to make it to 50 of the plastics put out by GW. Painted fully are 13 Custodian guard squad members, and 3 Sentinel Guard members. This has been sufficent with the tanks to put me just over 1k of points as a allied force for my main mechanicum army currently.For my gold I started with a base coat of spray can retributor armor, highlights of auric armor, and liberator gold, two layers of fleshshade (I wanted a more rosegold color to differentiate my boys).Edged with runefang and game color chainmail silver, the red is tamiya x-27 clear red over gold followed by earthshade. http://imgur.com/uHhUpIFNext, you need guns. BIG guns.Currently, your foot slogging custodes has little to no way to deal with armor 12 or higher without swords getting the rend. Forgeworld has our backs with some absolutely bananas tanks. The Legio Custodes Caladius Grav Tank. Oh man this guy is juicy. Your opponent got you heavily out gunned? Where you worry they won't survive starting on the board? Out flank or deepstrike them. Need to go fast? Machine spirit. Want multiple targets? Machine spirit. Need to jink? Machine spirit. Grav backwash is an utterly awesome rule, making it far harder to smack in CC. This tank reeks cool but requires the rend to get through higher level armor. This is factored into it's current cost. Base coated again in the sprayed can retributor armor, with a few heavy layers of combined fleshshade and nuln oil, then shined up with the above mentioned golds, to ensure the dirty look I kept the largest panels a lot brighter while only mildly dry brushing duller golds towards the edges. Followed by highlight of runefang steel, the recesses done with argarax earthsade. The tanks still are not completed, I want to clean up a few spots I went to fast with the highlights, and add some more age to the grave plates. I would rather have my amateur hour work on the table painted, then have raw or only base coated models. Plans: I need to build a banner boy custodian! I was not planning on doing anything without rules (for 30k) but I feel it would be absolutely fine to dedicate one soul to put me at 20 for the time being as a banner man. What I hope for:RULES. I can't wait for Book 7 inferno. Talons of the Emperor list excites me so. We need rules for custodians wielding only swords no shields, and the banner. Characters are a must. I will have two or more of the speeder fw has previewed I love fast striking vehicles (as a complete opposite my lumbering monsters of cybernetica). Hoping the Custodian contemptor is not a character and has other weapon options (and can be taken in talons (haha multipun). Imperial Knight. Would love to have custodes scions. I am thinking about building a castigator to represent the supporting character from Master of Mankind. Not sure how I would do the armor trim so hopefully inferno has the knight paint scheme that support the tenthousand. Custodes terminators with fire pikes (and hopefully powerfists...)Transports! Not sure if custodes will get access to spartans or raiders or only their own hover transports, but really begging for assault transports. Jet bikes. Duh. I expect custodes jetbikes to be strong. Really strong. If it has a lastrum bolt cannon built in, squads of these will be absolute murder. More weapon options. I would LOVE for lastrum bolt cannons to be a hand carried option for the custodes. Also hoping for giant axes and powerfists. Something to help murder armor. Oh and duel swords. And while the blades described had no mention of having the inbuilt bolters, I did it for the fun!Anyways here is where I stand! I will have my 100 golden boys. It could take some time as it will be slow till FW start pouring out more content. I expect to get a hold of 15 more plastic kits to flush out half my army. Enjoy! Another 5 man squad complete this one a mixed bag.http://imgur.com/xLwST9pA banner man with shield, three spears and a duel sword wielding mofo. This puts me at 16 custodian guard members, and counting banner and duel sword as sentinels at 6 now! Quite a formidable force. Supporting my mechanicum at 3k points, they supplimented the crushing of a massive grey knight/deathwatch force. The outflanking tanks coming on and shredding back lines and rear armor of dreads, and popping a baby carrier with an instant death shot from the Iliastus accelerator cannon! Accounting for tanks and dreads I sit at 42 bodies completely painted! So where am I on the build: 2 dreads (Galatus) 2 caladius tanks 3 pallas (will likely be adding 3 more I love the look of their mechanized list) 7 black sentinels/hetaeron guards. Those power fists are dirty. Especially on 3 wound beatsticks. 4 gold spear/shield hetaerons (one can double as the mighty shield guard captain) 1 stand in Valdor complete with his mighty spear. 5 sentinels one with vexila (with a buddy of his holding two swords lol Ra from MOM) And 18 standard guard!
