Kastor Krieg
I know it's a wildly unpopular viewpoint, but I find the idea of putting rock music of any kind alongside Warhammer completely laughable... Don't get me wrong, I loves my metal. But there is something I find very immature about the combination of Space Marines and Metallica, for example. Call me immature and my taste laughable then. When my Templars charge, this is the sound of + PURITY, ZEAL AND HATRED + Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/329087-the-sound-of-warhammer/page/2/#findComment-4602766 Share on other sites
bluntblade
Ironically after Laurie's comment, Disposable Heroes is the unofficial theme tune of the Imperial Guard Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/329087-the-sound-of-warhammer/page/2/#findComment-4602776 Share on other sites
Kastor Krieg
Ironically after Laurie's comment, Disposable Heroes is the unofficial theme tune of the Imperial Guard Hell yeah! For me, this is the Guard, pretty close musically One by one, doing the crime Never thought twice, never did time Never turn back, never go home Never get used to being alone One by one, into the sea Too many eyes are staring at me Two by two, watch as they go Who are you and what do you know I got your heart in hand Never let go Make it Take it Never let go Tell all you know This is what you make it, pound the ground Make it Take it Never let go Tell all you know How far can you take it as you go... Ironbound Two by two, iron to bend Keeping the oath, right to the end Three by three, breaking some bones Snapping some neck, never alone Here they come, rumble and pound Never get used to hearing that sound There they go, fast as they came Never go back, never the same All my friends are green and black All my friends are right All my friends are automatic They all rule the night All my friends through thick and thin They've loyalty and heart Said all of them are green and black Everyone all right All my friends are automatic They all rule the night Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/329087-the-sound-of-warhammer/page/2/#findComment-4602796 Share on other sites
Grand Master Laertes
When writing I love to listen to "The storyteller's rain" by Ferdy Doernberg and "Building an empire" by Demians. "Be" from Pain of Salvation is great too. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/329087-the-sound-of-warhammer/page/2/#findComment-4602875 Share on other sites
helterskelter
Every time one of these threads pop up its pretty much compulsory to mention Bolt Thrower. Inside the wire is a right beast of a track as well as the more obvious ones ^_^ Amon Amarth and Iced Earth do it for me too, and John Murphy's Adagio in D Minor Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/329087-the-sound-of-warhammer/page/2/#findComment-4602879 Share on other sites
Servant of Dante
Hum . . . yeah, I'm going to go with my tastes being "immature" My preferred description of 40K is "fantasy pretending to be sci-fi, dipped in cheesy 80s metal" at least 90% of the music I listen to is traditional metal or power metal, but Two Steps From Hell is pretty awesome too. This is my favorite song for the Order of the Gloriuous Reprisal Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/329087-the-sound-of-warhammer/page/2/#findComment-4603066 Share on other sites

Vykryl
I seem to be an odd ball here. Most of the time while assembling and painting I have the Muppets playing, usually to help ne unwind from work :) When my mind is completely on gaming you will here Iron Maiden's Seventh Son of a Seventh Son playing. During a game its a mash of rock from different eras and subgenres, Motorhead, Black Sabbath, Megadeth, Nightwish, Powerwolf, Ramstein, Rob Zombie, many more. Throw them all together and press the random play button ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/329087-the-sound-of-warhammer/page/2/#findComment-4603746 Share on other sites
