Red Scorpions - Returning Home

Hey everyone!

 

So this is my foray into the Red Scorpions Chapter. When I first got into Warhammer 40k tabletop (had played the games growing up) back in November of last year, I started off with Ultramarines, then proceeded to go into Blood Ravens. However, things changed and I turned to Orks, then into Tau, then unto Eldar the Emperor for his guidance and he helped me find the Red Scorpions.

 

I love this chapter for the sole reason of the apothecaries. I absolutely love that unit. When I used to play the Dawn of War games on the computer, it was the one unit I always protected more than anything. In the newest Eternal Crusade, I've put more hours into the apothecary than any other - so why not play a Chapter that allows me to field them?

 

So far, I have only managed to acquire 1x Chaplain, 1 x Tactical Squad, 1 x Speeder - with 3 x Land Raider Crusaders, 6 x Bikes, 1 x Imperial Knight coming via trades at my FLGS. This is what I have so far;

 

 

I'm still very new to painting so I tried some new things this go around - like weathering on the Land Speeder, though I don't think I used a dark enough brown nor did I really consider good placements for the chipping. I also started painting units before I completely glue them - as shown in the tactical Squad picture - most are missing guns and heads, to make it easier to reach the eagle in the middle and for me to make sure I make the heads look good.

 

I hope you guys enjoy and will follow me as I attempt to get this army up and going! Each unit has been taking forever, but I'm loving the time I'm putting into them - makes it all worth it in the end.
