I think you're right, I'll leave them be, I don't think their sculpts lend to alot of painting anyway.

Just based all of these today:

I'm also on with painting Greyfax and got her an extra special base so she sticks out.

The 2 old stormtroopers I've had since I was a kid but I got another squad on Ebay which I'm going to use aa Acolytes for my Inquisition detachment to go alongside my guard, just for fluff :)

Well managed to get my first game of 40k in for well the best part of 2 decades last night!

Kept it light and easy as me and the mrs were trying to learn/re-learn the rules.

We went for a Kill Team style game with about 200 points each and kept it very light on the smaller rules.

I was running 2 Veterans squads upgraded to Grenadiers. 1 squad with 3 Meltas and the 2nd with 2 Meltas and a Plasma Gun.

She had 1 five woman squads of Sisters with 2 flamers, and 2 squads armed with boltguns.

I got the first turn and moved up towards the objective but couldn't get close enough to cap it and my guns were out of range.

Her first turn, moved her sisters up but again same issue as me.

2nd turn I moved 1st squad to the left flank of the building and 2nd squad to the right flank.

The vets fired off everything but didn't manage a single wound par 1 sister who felt the full brunt of a Plasma Gun.

Her 2nd turn she responded with a rain of bolter fire, cutting 1st squad to half its number, and chopping down 3 men from 2nd squad.

She moved one squad to hide behind the objective.

No Assault this turn.

3rd turn and I managed to cut one of her squads down to 2 sisters and charged them. This became a bit of a stalemate with none of my vets hitting or her sisters.

My other squad fired off on her squad with the flamers and took out one sister, then charged in close combat. She snap fired and took out one of my vets.

I got lucky with my dice in the assault with the same squad and took out the other 4 sisters, bad dice on her part.

4th turn and her squad that was in close combat with my other squad got cut down, not before taking out 3 of my vets.

She moved her squad up that had been hiding behind the objective and cut down another 2 men and charged into close combat.

This became a stalemate as there were not hits and this is how the 5th turn went, neither of us scoring any wounds.

We rolled to make the game carry on but we rolled a 1 so called it a night.

She still had one squad with 5 sisters and I was left with 1st squad with 4 vets left and 2nd squad with 2 vets left.

She was closest to the objective so a victory for her sisters.

Really fun though and hoping we can get her sisters painted up properly soon :)

Sigh if only my missus was interested in playing. I got her to play one game when I first started and that was the last.

Lucky you!

She was only ever really interested in painting, a dirty Tau xeno lover!

But since the triumvirate came out shes suddenly interested in SoB so I've managed to get her into a game or two.

I'm getting the new Warhammer Quest this week I think as thats more up her street.

Its a shame that Warhammer has such a small female following. I suppose its the same with videogames though, I think it will change in the future with the new generations.

So many Kasrkin! Ive noticed prices on ebay have sky rocketed lately :( Plasma and Meltas have gone from an average of 10 pounds to closer to 15 ><. I'm so jealous of that big squad right now. I cant wait to see them all done :)

I got really lucky as I already had a squad from years ago but I also got a full squad for 20 quid, they were at buy it now and I just think people were too busy paying silly money on bid items ending at the same time.

They're on the backburner a bit at the moment as I'm helping paint up the sisters, needed a break from all the castellan green haha.

So I was in GW the other day while I was in Bradford, only to get some paints and bases mind...and ended up getting an armoured fist!

So today I have built and primed my first ever Chimera. Basically going to get one for each of my vets squads.

Really easy to build the main body and I have made a slight modification to thw commander :)

Great painting on those Veterans. Greyfax is looking awesome too!

I usually walk out of the store with something I didn't plan on buying when I walked in...

I did manage to finish her in the end, wasn't happy with the loin though :\

Much prefer painting tanks ha

I find bouncing between some infantry and breaking it up with tanks is what keeps me sane. I can't do a great job on batch painting infantry in large numbers, it's why my 300 Space Marines remain mostly unpainted.

I like your Greyfax, my only nitpick is her eye, it's detracting from her face for me, maybe make the pupil smaller?

Yeah I thinkvthe pallid wych makes her eye look bigger too, ill come back to her.

Chimera update:

I've done the multilaser but I also going to try something special for an autocannon, more will be revealed later!

Still got more weathering to do this afternoon after teaching :)

I like the weathering around the rivets and dirt settled into the recesses. With the extra detail you're adding would it be worth using some putty to fill the gaps down the side of that gun barrel?

Yeah I'm gonna have a look into that. I think it's pushed apart slightly from being magnetised.

Little progress today but I've had so much to do.

I've got the tracks to weather a bit more and the commander to paint up, and lastly need to neaten up the barrel then she's ready to hunt some Xenos!
