So this is the scheme I'm going for, still need to do his base and final highlights but he's definitely tabletop ready:

Just doing my command squad now, using Sea Green and German Grey for the colours from Vallejo (can't remember exact names right now!).

Also decided my hellhounds are going to be part of my Krieg Army along with fhe unbuilt Leman Russ and I might even paint my Baneblade up for them yet.

Loving the aesthetic of them as an army!

Sorry Duz, only one angle for now!

I still need to do muzzle burn, chest reader thingies, the standard and add razorwire to the bases but they're more than playable now.

I promised myself I wouldn't order anymore Krieg until this squad was done so not long now..

Got my hellhound/devildog just about done now too.

I magnetised it so I can switch everything about.

Still got a Krieg tank commander to go in the top, and I also have a second Hellhound nearly done too.

Got 2 infantry squads in the post too so will be slowly expanding my detachment.

If I've said it before I'll say it again you make Grey look sexy. ;)

Haha that propee tickled me and thank you very much!

I'm enjoying the change to painting Cadian colours plus using the airbrush is saving me so much time it's making me really enjoy painting again.

My idea for my krieg is I'm going to get some artillery and use them to soften up enemy lines, let the hellhounds move up and roast whats left, and use my kriegsmen to take objectives/die by the boat load :)

So today ordered one of these:

I also ordered a couple of squads of Engineers and another 2 squads of kriegsman.

So that puts my Krieg detachment at:

Command squad and junior officer

4 infantry squads

2 engineer squads

2 hellhounds

Malcador Infernus

1 Mars Pattern Russ

I'm probably going to get some more infantry at some point but I've decided I'm just going to try and melt the enemy instead of shooting them from afar.

I like the idea of artillery but I like to blitzkrieg a bit to be honest :)

So getting somewhere with my armour for my Krieg:

Yesterday I got all the lenses, rivets, edge highlighting and markings sorted on my 2 chimeras and on my Stygies Tank Destroyer.

I've still got to do the paint chipping and powder weathering, plus glue the tracks on.

I even got to use them plus my built Malcador Infernus against my mates Primaris/Vanillmarines army and pulled out a draw, I didn't run alot of plasma/melta because I was trying to run a pure Krieg list (or as close as I could).

The Malcador toasted 2 squads of Terminators and a squad of Tactical marines, so I was pretty happy with its performance.

I've told myself I'm going to have to get all my Krieg infantry painted now before I let myself do the Infernus as a treat

Got the stygies done, and my chimeras too:

On with finishing building my Malcodor Infernus, and then I've got 4 krieg squads to build, and 4 squads of engineers to build too.

Then that'll be it for my Krieg..for now haha.

So I haven't fallen off the face of the planet, I've been busy painting up my Saim Hann Eldar army and a Necron army.

But since the codex came out I've vowed to myself to finish off what's left of my guard, starting with my stormlord which I finished today:

I'm getting another Baneblade kit fpr my birthday next month, which I'm going to fully magnetise, then that'll be my cadians all done.

Still have my Krieg army to finish but that can wait.

Yay! You're back! that Stormlord looks really (reyt) good! How long did it take to paint it?

Not that long in the grand scheme to be honest, I sprayed it with Zandri Dust, then airbrushed on Vallejos air version of castellen green.

Once that dried I airbrushed Vallejo Khaki Air to blend it in for the camo.

Edge highlighted the green with Loren Forest and the Khaki with Ushabti Bone.

Then did the lamps with Vallejo Electric Blue and then a mix of that and Vallejo Ghost White.

Rivets were done with Agrax, tracks, rust lines and muzzles with forge world powders.

All in all I think it probably only took about 4 hours but I was crawling along for some bits, watching telly/getting distracted.

I'm gonna go back to it and add some more wear and tear using a fine detail brush tomorrow as I want it to look pretty battered with it being an assault tank and all!

I'm wanting to enter some tournaments soon so just want to make sure my armies well painted before I go :)

Hi all,

I've had a very long hobby hiatus of sorts again, or atleast with my guard.

The wife took a job in her home country of the Netherlands, resulting in me selling off most of my units that never got any game time and along with various other armies I had as I'd never have space for them in our new house.

I ended up selling my Krieg so now I've only got my Cadian, however I've been making a concerted effort to improve my painting of late.

So over the past week back on the horse so to speak I've managed to get my Malcador Infernus repainted in Cadian colours (the only DKOK thing I didn't sell!) And I've started cracking on with one of my last grey unprimed squads:
