Rite of War Legion Recon Company

So, I want to use the RoW Legion Recon Company. I read through the restrictions and I am unsure how to apply.

 

So, in taking this RoW, Recon Squads become compulsory troops. Normally they can not be taken as compulsory in other lists so the troops slots have to be met in some other fashion.

 

Finally, they RoW demands that you take a 3rd compulsory troops choice which must be a recon squad.

 

So two ways to interpret-

 

1. The only compulsory troops you can take are recon squads and you have to take 3.

 

2. Recon squads become compulsory troops just as Tac squads, Breachers and Assault Squads. You need to take 3 compulsory troops and one of them need to be a recon squad.

 

So, can I take 1 assault squad, 1 tac squad and 1 recon squad to fill the requirements or do I need to take 3 recon squads.

 

I have tried to read it both ways and can't decide and given I am brand new to the 30k system I thought it best to ask before buying/modelling.

This has been covered extensively. There isn't an official FAQ or Errata, but it has been strongly suggested by FW that it must be 3 Recon Squads. Hence the name, Legion Recon Company.
