N1SB
Hi all, a question from a Mechanicum standpoint: What Horus Heresy/Great Crusade era vehicle has an Armour Value of Front 12, Sides 10, Rear 10, 3 Hull Points please? The context is I want to convert my own Ordo Reductor Artillery tanks with a Demolisher Cannon (without Siege Plating so the AVs will be as above). In the spirit of sportsmanship, I try to convert models that are most intuitive to opponents, because there're so many new fancy rules in the Age of Darkness that I try to make my army as WYSIWYG as possible. Example - for my Macrocarid Explorator, I did a simple conversion of a Land Raider where I removed the Assault Ramp and replaced it with a normal piece of armour plate, so people immediately recognise it as AV14 but not an Assault Vehicle: http://oi67.tinypic.com/28w2h34.jpg Now, my fall-back/go-to for an AV 12/10/10 HP: 3 tank would probably be a Chimera. That's the one I think people are most familiar with from their 40k days, but the problem is, people do associate it with 40k rather than 30k probably. Is there a better 30k option? I have no doubt the Chimera STC probably existed at the time, just less utilised as there were probably better options back then, but if there is something more reflective of a 30k era, I'd prefer to go with that. I will do some converting, so please let us brainstorm together. Marshal Rohr
You could try a conversion of the Centaur or even branch out into other game's model ranges, too. I am personably building an onager dune crawler with a basilisk Cannon like the walker artillery from the Clone Wars.
