AshenKnight
Iron Warrior Project Please find the progress of my army below. He was the first to arrive so I jumped straight in. Project number one is the Primarch himself. Perturabo. The main torso section undercoated, based and starting now to pick at details. http://i65.tinypic.com/1znn5v4.jpg Side view. http://i65.tinypic.com/244a0rt.jpg This is a leg section I started. GrandMagnus
Like the steel colour of the armour. How did you do it? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/329620-the-cold-touch-of-iron/#findComment-4615988 Share on other sites

Daemon2027
Lovely work in the Lord of Iron, a very smith silver colour, looking forward to seeing more. AshenKnight
Like the steel colour of the armour. How did you do it? Basecoated a mixture of chainmail silver and black. Highlight of chainmail. Washed in medium and nuln oil. Washed again focusing more in the recesses. Highlighted with chainmail. It's really simple but I wanted to go for that cool, smoky look. Something real beat up and war ready. Lots of weathering to do at the later detailing stage. AshenKnight
The beast is coming to life! I'm quite proud of the painting so far. I have come a long way since when I first started. http://i64.tinypic.com/15ojcza.jpg http://i64.tinypic.com/29d3pk.jpg ShotgunFacelift, Kurgan the Lurker, GrandMagnus and 1 other 4 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/329620-the-cold-touch-of-iron/#findComment-4619671 Share on other sites

AshenKnight
They kind of went into the "I'll get back to you soon" basket. Well, it's soon, and I'm gonna finish these guys! Perturabo is pretty much done and I'll get some snaps of him tonight. I built up my own Warsmith, he's wielding a rather large and menacing axe! He's built from Iron Hand kit. AshenKnight
I know it's early but does anyone have any suggestions for basing style? Considering doing a flat plate base, maybe with a small step but with nuts and bolts lying around on the ground. Maybe some of the plate warped, or bent up and jagged at the end. Also some hex plate, or grating. Color would be dark metal again, but with spots of high contrast rust and maybe some iodized coppery bits with the teal iodization. I wanted to stay true to a theme with them, maybe they are protecting an old Forgeworld from a Xenos invasion. hushrong
I don't k is how you feel out the new GW bases that are pre designed. I think they also have a basing kit that has brass bits you could use for an industrial look. Also, your Iron Warriors look superb! That Warsmith looks like you would ever want to cross his path. AshenKnight
Deciding on bases and I wanted to try like an old industrial forgeworld kind of base. I'll give this ago, I'll paint it up and see how it looks. :) Luna707 and hushrong 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/329620-the-cold-touch-of-iron/#findComment-4889957 Share on other sites
