MajorNese
The less repulsive Repulsor is done, after sitting on my table for half a year and waiting for its paint. Looking good. Do you have any pictures of the back of the Impulsor? Here you go... Xenohammer, CaptainFrederickson, WAR and 6 others 9 Back to top
Dracos
Dude! Loving the canopy even more than before. Got a small tutorial on ... How to? duz_ 1 Back to top
MajorNese
The principle is not complicated, and these are my first 2 tries. Medical bandage, entirely soaked in undiluted PVA glue, then draped over some sprue and basecoated when dry: Same with the Impulsor, but first I put in a sheet of plasticard (coverin the entire back) so it stays in place. Cut and shifted the bandage, then soaked with watered down PVA glue (which might be responsible for the loss of structure), glued on the plasticard belts, basecoated. There are ways to perfect that, but I guess I'll probably build one more Impulsor in the future. Xenohammer and duz_ 2 Back to top
Dracos
I don't have plans for Impulsors in my "competitive" list I'n building but ^this^ is going to make me build two just for looks and funsies, after I get the Centurions and characters. I dislike the S-10 look so bad I wouldn't have even considered it ... Now I just must :)
MajorNese
Let's just say the Impulsor is quite nice when aiming for overwhelming board control, which is something we have many options for already. Even if it may not be too competitive, it can be fun in the less critical games. I've also seen entirely enclosed conversions, those weren't bad either. MajorNese
Nice. I might do something similar in the future, but that's something I'll consider when current projects are off the table. That might take a while...
MajorNese
Second squad of Incursors is done: Also, the Tempests received a bit of weathering, and got down to LandSpeeder bases. Previously I used them as Stormtalon count-as, but now that Tempests are finally viable, I'll use them as such. Then I found a dice shop that does custom designs, and seemingly doesn't have an issue with GW successors: And now, with the Incursors completed, I have arrived at a full primaris company (100 marines + HQs/specialists). Fully half of this is Phobos, so I guess it's also a Phobos demi-company. Time for group shots (Thunderhawk not pictured, it doesn't fit my shelf). Next up would be autobolt intercessors (I currently don't have any), a Stormhawk or Stormtalon, and the remaining 2 Invictors. And then maybe even more Incursors... thewarriorhunter
Man those pictures are things of beauties. The tempest look great, I really need to get one or two for myself. Why did you opt to remove the pylons from the wings?
MajorNese
You mean the antenna things? Those were already wobbly and bent on delivery, no way they wouldn't break off after a few games. thewarriorhunter 1 Back to top
Entry1
I love the Incursors they turned out great, I really like the infiltrator helmets as opposed to the standard build. I was on the fence about building a unit of these guys...now i"m definitely going to have to grab a box or two so thanks for that!! How have they served you and the table top? Also I really love the added touch of the sandbags esp around the gun turrets!! Are those the old Forge World Raptor symbols if not where did you get them? They look fantastic as well. All great stuff here! Brian
MajorNese
Have only tried the first Incursor squad once - double mined an objective, proved unkillable at range, and diverted a lot of CC stuff. Will try two squads + Infiltrators on Sunday, we'll see. Yep, those symbols are the old FW ones, and I got them at FW at the start of the project. But since they stopped selling, I'm casting my own now, which is why I can adapt the symbols to any surface shape as long as they are not fully hardened. MajorNese
And the next batch is done, including the Inceptors from the Boxing Day Bash. 3 las-fusil Eliminators - in case of spare points, I intend to use these as upgrades to existing squads. I've got character killing overkill already, might add some AT. A Reiver lieutenant - indended to run around with vanguard WL traits and disrupt stuff, for when Ex Tenebris might have been a tad too ordinary. I just replaced the knife for a better one, and customized the pistol - the guy would look too boring otherwise. Last but not least, my first squad of autobolt Intercessors (and some sarge options). Advancing often makes sense, and the increased number of shots makes these guys the best choice. Will build another squad next. Also I've decided to split my primaris force into two companies - since I've got more than 50 marines each in vanguard and regular company, and still stock up a lot, it makes more sense that way. Long-term goal would be a full vanguard company (with currently planned models I would reach 80-90) and a regular company, but the details will be decided when the next release wave is on its way. Downside - I'll have to add company markings to every single kneepad. That might take a while, not doing that right away... duz_
Looks great! The blues are really well done! Care to share you secret for them? ;) Dracos 1 Back to top

Bjorn Firewalker
Excellent works. I especially like the dynamically posed Reiver.
MajorNese
Thank you. The blues are still my current recipe - Lorthern blue + Girlyman blue glaze. It just pops more when using a flash on full power, due to the top layer being transparent. For red, my 30k Alpha Legion used that - white basecoat, red glaze (example). Green also works on a white basecoat (here). Though I will have to alter that recipe since GW discontinued all glazes - the Talassar blue replacement may achieve the same color (first time used on that hammer), but the consistency needs getting used to. And that reiver LT's pose is, except for slightly different angle on the arms, the normal GW one. If it were not for that pose, I would have never bought one model without any unusual parts for the price of 5. duz_ 1 Back to top
Dracos
Curious where did younger the Reivers blade and Sgts hammer?
MajorNese
The reiver's blade is from the Deathwatch squad unit, the hammer is from the assault squad or dev squad sprue IIRC. I had quite a bit of oldmarine stuff around to pick bitz from. Dracos 1 Back to top
