Praise the sun!!!

Which lore are you mostly drawing fronm? it seems as you mention the cindered, that the 3rd installment is your main inspiration.

Over at the WIP-Boards is another XIth who heavily draws on the lore of the cindered and the flame. Go look for Observers threads.

Greetings from another XI^^

The Purge: Part One:

They have come. Finally, after all these long years, they have come for us. We knew it wasn't going to last. We all knew. Even the Scholar. My Lord knew what we had become. He knew it all. And he still let us lose our way. He will allow them to kill us all. He may even purge the Cinderborn himself. They are the true cancer within the Legion. The Cinderborn, and the beast that controls them. The wrath of the Firekeeper knows no bounds.

I hear them. They are here. I shall stand, flame-wreathed, and when I die, my ashes will scatter across this world. Prepare to die.

The Knight stood alone. His companions were elsewhere, bringing the fight to the enemy by themselves. He preferred his own company anyway. He worked better alone. The others, they were a distraction. He needed space for his art. For his art was death.

Standing alone in his private chamber in the castle-fortress of Lorthric, the warrior contemplated his best course of action. His mark-three warplate hummed in the darkness, a familiar sound to his trans-human ears. Donning his helm, he checked his weapons, and set off. Out his door, and down the hall, left towards the inner sanctum.

He knew exactly where his Lord and fellow knights would be. The forefront of the battle. The Lord of Cinders himself was leading the defenses. He knew the Firekeeper though, once enough blood had been spilled, the Lord would fall back to the Kiln. There he would await the Emperor's justice. But before then, plenty would die. The Abyss-spawn and the Tainted would be put to the sword, the Cinderborn ranks annihilated. The Unburnt and the Four Knights would see to that.

He knew he should be with his own company. His men would likely just now be entering the fray. If he hurried, he could probably reach them. Something in him hesitated, as if a greater force was calling to him. He knew what it was. It wasn't fear, Legiones Astartes knew no fear. It was more simple than that. It was...Destiny. He knew he was destined for something greater. He didn't want to die before he had the chance to find out what this feeling was.

Entering the outskirts of the inner sanctum, he came across a door. A large, dull metal door, it looked no different than hundreds of others he had walked past since leaving the darkness of his own chambers. This door had a stylized sun engraved into the metal. Choosing this door, the warrior opened it.

Captain Hawkwood stepped into the sunlight on the day that would be his last, and set a course that would set the fate of the Legion in stone.

Thanks everyone! I am quite excited to finally be working on this project. It's one I've wanted to do for quite a while now. The idea has been forming in my head for quite some time, and now I've finally reached a point where I want to work on it.

@Cryptic: Rage and Rampage are certainly rules I'm considering giving to quite a few characters!

@Raktra: Hail brother! I'm going to have to check out your Bloodborne-esque legion!

@Mikhal:     \|/    Praise the Sun!  I'm going to draw mostly from Dark Souls and Dark Souls 3, mostly because I want to forget that the 2nd game exists. But I will draw from the DS2 as well, hence the Legion name, the Pilgrims of the Dark.

And oooohhh...Gonna have to check out the Observers....Interesting....

The Last Stand: Part Oneish:

-The Kiln of the First Flame, beneath Keep Lorthric-

"Father...You don't have to do this. The bulk of the Legion is innocent. The Abyss-spawn have been purged. We killed the corrupted ones. The rest of my sons are pure."
