TheOneTrueZon
I have no idea why the flames have photographed so badly, it's very weird. Out of all the colors of the spectrum, Red is the hardest color for digital camera sensors (and film too) to capture.
Tzen
I have no idea why the flames have photographed so badly, it's very weird. Thanks for the info! :D
Bjorn Firewalker
The flame reliefs conceal the Inquisition markings very well. Good job.
Tzen
Thanks Bjorn! Two more WIP pics. http://www.golden-throne.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/vulk4.jpg http://www.golden-throne.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/vulk3.jpg I haven't had all that much time to work on this chap, not as much as I'd like anyway, so there are still places on it that need tidying up. But he ain't looking too bad. Not amazing, but okay!

Tzen
Thanks Checkmate! http://www.golden-throne.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/vulk6.jpg I am still not sure about the flame on the chest, but I can't fix the flame. I am not bashing finecast, but in this case the helm is really badly moulded. I have three options, get another helm (no time for that), or pick a plastic one. Or just live with it. I will just live with it!

GrandMagnus
While I'm a big fan of the original GW mini, your conversion looks great. Also, as always, your paintjob is excellent.
Vairocanum
Seriously amazing work on vulkan hestan! The green is such a nice hue. Looking forward to seeing him completed!
Tzen
Thanks very much chaps! I didn't get to finish him today so it will likely be Sunday now before I do! Looking forward to getting him done so I can focus on my Thousand Sons a little more! :D
Tzen
Last WIP pic before I do his base. http://www.golden-throne.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/vulk10.jpg Not that happy with it, I think the model is too busy, just like the original Vulkan He'stan. I don't have a huge amount of time to do more on him, but I may return to his spear and left shoulder pad. The scales on it are pretty bad. Sagentus
Looks really nice. I see what you mean about its very busy, but that add to the aspect that he is an important figurehead of the army and makes him stand out from the regular infantry
Tzen
Yeah, I guess it's just subjective. I dont mind a bit of bling but I just think I have over done it a bit! :D Ah well. Here is the final pics. I will have to revisit him later down the line as I have not highlighted the silver areas well/at all in some places. http://www.golden-throne.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/vulkd1.jpg http://www.golden-throne.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/vulkd2.jpg http://www.golden-throne.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/vulkd3.jpg And here is a white background pic for all the purists :P http://www.golden-throne.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/vulkwhite.jpg

Soric
I'm not really a big Salamanders fan, but even I think it looks great. You shouldn't be too harsh on yourself :)
Noctem Cultor
Looks great, as the HQ of the Master Crafter's he has to be busy. Love the contrast between the armour flames and the base/icon flames. Awesome work. -Noctem
Tzen
Thanks chaps! I don't think it's terrible, I just like to recognise the bits that aren't great! Still, onward to more Thousand Sons!

Tzen
It seems to be the thing on Facebook to tell me I have "missed a spot" on just about every model! I dunno if you knew that or it's just uncanny! :P Glad you like Race! :D
Guest Triszin
awesome work. TZEN, out of curiousity, I have found it that I need to start painting the models in parts, as you do. I'd be curious to see you painting setup/how you paint/build the model. Tools/vices and such
Tzen
I'll take some pics tomorrow Triszin, but it's all fairly basic stuff. Things like wire to hold smaller parts, blu tac etc!
