@lionofjudah: Really love your grimy, weathered yellow! The effect is incredibly realistic and recalls heavy duty construction machines. Wonderful work!

In other news, here's my second completion: Techmarine Deracin of the World Eaters' 4th assault company:

Deracin is actually a younger version of my 40k Warpsmith:

More pictures as well as a closer look at the character's background can be found here in my thread.

Looks great. What have you done with the tracks, they look different from other Spartans I have seen?

Best regards,

G

Brother G- tracks are by Thomas McBride at Blood and Skulls industries... I love his stuff and have a Deimos rhino kit of his coming up next.

Thanks Kraut!! That's exactly what I was aiming for. I spent some time in south west utah last year and there was a caterpillar bulldozer that provided a LOT of inspiration:)

That and Apologists simple warmed yellow stripe recipe(while a different color) on his iron warriors provided a much needed boost to my color scheme and 'feeling' of the paint job- now to go back through everything I've painted thus far and hit them with the wash as well

I have completed a second unit, the tartaros terminators with volkites

and the first custodes, as a test of my colour scheme before doing the rest of the squad.

So, update on my progress so far.

I've completed my first three pledged units, getting me the Centurion and Chaplain titles. These units were pretty quick to get painted as I'm trying to treat this army as a speed paint challenge and see how quickly I can complete the whole thing.

Next up I'm going to finish the Invictarus Suzerains and also paint some Custodes allies too. Probably going to find something else to paint afterwards so that I can be a Champion too. biggrin.png

Weekly update...

The Dual Grav Bombard Leviathan is finished, transfers and all. Despite the earlier frustrations with the brass icons, I'm quote pleased with the results. He makes a welcome addition to my completed models and will soon be joined by the next piece...

The second Vindicator has its red armour complete. I actually just applied the Carrosburg Crimson prior to taking the pics, so it may still look a little wet in some spots. It should be done by this time next week and I'll be ready to make my second vow, which I've already primed in anticipation. It will be smaller than my first, but still one I look forward to.

No more words now, just pictures...

WIP update on the olde Spartan

Going to go back to touch up yellows as they got off last night, satin varnish and affix decals in a few more places and then hit her with the weathering powders.

So I finally got around to paint some of my pledge.
Here is my WB Delegatus (pretty much finished)

Word Bearers Delegatus

Followed by my WB Chaplain (also already finished)

Word Bearers Chaplain

I also remodelled my Diabolist a bit and gave him his red base colour

Word Bearers Diabolist

And to round it of my Gal Vorbak also got their base red colour

Word Bearers Gal Vorbak

All in a days work rolleyesclean.gif (small Edit: I swear that the red on the models isnt "that" discoloured it´s just my camera acting being weird)
But i am not quite sure if i´ll be able to finish all of my pledge till the end of the event, especially the 2 tac squads so I wanted to ask if I could put them on ice for the time being and see if i can get them finished up after I finished the first badge.

Also I just wanted to say that I deeply envy all of those that already posted their miniatures and am very impressed with all the progress all of you have been making, congrats to you all yes.gif
