I'm alive! Took some time off.

 

Made a start on the last part of my pledge, the Graviton Rapier and crew -

I  got a surprise day off tomorrow so I think I am going to use it to its fullest and paint this Vith legion Forgelord

With less than a week left I come to present my humble offering of three units as pledged.
My painting skills are average at best so hope these are ok. Looking at these now I realise that I was too heavy on the shading on the Tactical Squad, and maybe too light on the Tartars Terminators and Praetor. Something to get back to later in the year and touch up, but first I need to make progress with the rest of the army. Only 80 assorted marines to basecoat and paint!

First of here is my original pledging post and a picture of the unassembled unit in all their new sprue glory.

Here are the finished Tartarus Terminators.

Here is the finished Praetor; I went with the fancy shoulder pads in the end as everybody I showed the work in progress to at the local store said that looked better. Not quite convinced that the others could not have worked but too late now.

Finally here are all three units together.

Weekly update...

 

The Seeker Squad models are done. I'm not calling this vow 100% complete until the bases are also finished and these guys are firmly planted on then, which should be either tomorrow or the next day.

 

I went very dark and monochrome with this squad. Instead of the usual Carrosburg Crimson wash on the red, I opted for Nuln Oil to make even the base coloration darker than normal. I didn't add any Runefang Steel highlights to the Leadbelcher trim like I usually do, and even the Legion icon is grey and silver instead of the normal papyrus and flame to insure that there wold be no gleam off of any steel to betray their position. This not only helps them in lowlight to dark conditions, but it also makes their lenses pop (which I assume would be the last thing their designated target would see). I really enjoyed painting these guys, even on a limited palette. Let me know what you think and once they're based I'll post them along with another group photo and call my vows officially finished!

Interestingly the Traitors have almost catch up with the Loyalists despite their smaller numbers... Well played!

So quick question about my titles, I see I have the Magos, Chaplain, and Centurion Badges, but since I have 15HP and a Knight included, wouldn't that also give me the Seneschal and Forge Lord titles as well? I dislike being picky lol, but the powers that be call my name...

Well, I'll leave the event open for all time zones so effectively it will be open all day tomorrow, closing on Sunday. :)
