Dremiah
Could anyone point me to a good vid on assembly and paint off a land raider? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/330323-land-raider-assemblage-and-painting/ Share on other sites
Khornate individual
Don't know of any vids, but is there something your having trouble with on the assembly? Dremiah
Not particularly, I bought the Strike force ultima box, and in looking at the land raider sprues, I see there are pieces that will need painting on the inside of the model. So I was just simply wondering if there was a good tutorial on what/when to paint before or after final assembly. Chaplain Raeven
I had the same problem. I haven't found any guides for painting the interior. Most topics about the interior is about LED-lighting, so they skip the painting part. I assembled the interior of the landraider (Floor, engine, interior walls and doors), left the exterior armour off, masked the surfaces that will be glued and primed the whole thing. After everything was painted, I glued the exterior armour and roof and primed the exterior. Khornate individual
I primer and paint the whole interior before assembly. Just mask off areas that you don't want your primer on and primer all of the tank at the same time, that way you don't have to primer the outside of the tank after the inside is done. You don't want primer misting in on your painted interior. If you get primer or paint on any areas that need glued, use your x acto blade to clean it off and your good to go. Ovidius Incertus
Here's one that includes painting the interior before assembly. I've also seen others where they've said "never again" because the doors flop down while painting the exterior and ruin the interior paint. Khornate individual
Doors flop down while painting? Lousy assembly? Never had doors fall on a landraider, a rhino rear door is a different story. But if the doors "flop down", a little bit of masking tape will cure that problem while painting. Golf33
I've found plastic cement works through primer and paint - at least Revell Contacta does. Xenith
I was just simply wondering if there was a good tutorial on what/when to paint before or after final assembly. Paint the inside before final assembly? Skip painting it if you glue the doors shut.
