Noserenda
Hiya Frater, im considering adding some Engineers to my budding Death Rider platoon and was thinking of converting some of the new Genestealer Neophytes back to pure human, probably with some Cadian Respirator heads and cult details removed/obscured as the models i think would suit a Military miner unit (Using Hades for fun times :D ).Has anyone pulled this off already? My Google fu has been weak on this one! Also, has anyone been using the Engineers with Hades from the recent Krieg update who could share tips? :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/330365-genestealer-neophytes-guardsmen/ Share on other sites
Bryan Blaire
Here's a modification of Neophytes as Space Marine Scouts. So standard Guardsmen might work too! Inso
They would work perfectly. I was almost tempted to get a box myself and do exactly what you suggest :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/330365-genestealer-neophytes-guardsmen/#findComment-4637455 Share on other sites
Brother Handro
I'm in the process of building some up as Savlar Chem-Dog Veterans. Thought the mining armour, autoguns/shotguns and rebreathers very appropriate! All I'm doing is shaving down the heads and hands to be more human, maybe adding a few GS armour plates to shoulders and arms for that classic Chem-Dog style, and the odd headswap, but other than that, they're good to go! It is after all, all Imperial equipment... Honda
Also, has anyone been using the Engineers with Hades from the recent Krieg update who could share tips? Yes, the Hades + Engineers can be a lot of fun to use and quite annoying/threatening to your opponent. 1. Since it can deep strike, the Hades can literally show up anywhere. It's ideal target is something that you know isn't going to move or move very far after it has surfaces. 2. I expected more out of the surface attacks, but was usually disappointed in that regard. Not saying it won't cause the opponent heartburn, but don't bet the farm on it. 3. Always, always, always take the demo charge on the Engineers. Since they don't have to deep strike, they can be ideally placed for a significant counter-attack if you choose your entry point with the Hades very carefully. 4. Gas attacks are another variable. Sometimes they are fun for you, sometimes your opponent will laugh in your face. 5. Don't underestimate the value of WS4 on a guard figure. That tends to surprise people, but not those wearing 3+ armor. 6. Five man Engineer squads worked better for me than 10 man. I could get more demo charges (1 per squad) which is the real bite and the gas attacks seemed to either work or not regardless of the size. 7. I only have one Hades, so I matched that up with 4 x 5 man Engineer squads. Hope that helps. our_baz
From first seeing them I had a thought for using them a conscripts / penal troops, once all xenosness is removed with a sharp knife.
