Horus Heresy Space Wolves reading order

Gooday Frats and Sis,

 

As I lay on an hill of sprues, waiting for Inferno to be release, I would like to check I'm up to date with space wolves plot in the heresy.

 

So far, on a chronologic scale, I've read ;

 

- Betrayer (night of the wolf)

- The primarchs : Leman Russ (Dulan)

- Wolf at the door (13th company)

- Prospero's omnibus (as well as false gods and outcast deads for continuity)

- Scars (Alaxes)

- Wolf king (Yarant ?)

- Molech (for Russ !)

 

The setting is not new to me as I've been in the hobby since 1989, and every bit of old school backround seems to be updated except the road to Terra.

 

Therefore, I would like this thread to be a fact checker for reading order, and a discussion for out of date backround such as wolves being at Tallarn in 2nd edition.

 Raptor and Weregeld both have Space Wolves as fairly important plot points, these are their most recent activities, I believe. Russ features very briefly in Path of Heaven, which would be between Molech and Weregeld. Howl of the Hearthworld is about a few heading to Terra, not sure precisely when.

Path of Heaven is not the first, lol  - it has only 5 pages of Russ in the end.

 

I will correct you a little:

 

Scars is not Alaxxes - it is about Chondax and Abraxxes. It ends up with the Wolves entering Alaxxes nebula.

Wolf King will follow from here - it is Alaxxes from start to finish.

Then goes excerpts from the 'Vengeful Spirit' first.

Then goes 'Path of Heaven' this 5 pages of Russ in the end.

And only then goes 'Weregeld' - after the unwritten events of the 'Wolf Cull'  yet  - where Russ is at Yarant.

Are there any short stories which are a must?

 

Currently reading Leman's Primarch novel and it's an awesome one indeed!

 

Would like to read it in a chronological order, so Prospero Burns would be the next. Before I'll skip an important short story, I wanted to be sure. ^^

I meant if there are some really good ones, I should not miss like Last Son of Prospero, Prince of Crows or Savage Weapons or if they are good but not THAT awesome.

Nice that you didn't missed Last Son of Prospero and Savage Weapons - probably 2 best shorts from BL in HH setting for years
