Scaling up GK head for Dreadknight conversion?

Recommended Posts

Inspired by some cool conversions on the interwebs, I want to convert a NDK.

Rather than sculpting a head for the conversion out of GS like some examples I've seen, I was planning on using the 3D scanner and printer at work to scale up a regular power armor GK head.

How much should I scale the head up to fit the scale of the NDK?

Just eyeballing them compared to the toddler they carry I'd guess 4-5 times depending on what you want to do. Have you considered scrounging ebay for an IK head though? I've seen a few for sale and there are a few that would fit the appearance. They're already about that size anyway, but might not work for what you're wanting?

I do have a number of spare Knight faceplates sitting around, but the conversions I've seen that use Knight heads look a little too large for the NDK, and the style on them is off from the GK aesthetic.  When I get the chest settled, I'll try one since I have many, but I'm not sure if that's the route I want.  The head from a Knight Castigator would actually work aesthetically though, but I'm not willing to sacrifice the one I have, though I guess I could mould it....hmmm....

I'm doing this as a test model for an Armies on Parade diorama I'm contemplating, so I was trying to keep a unified GK look.
