Questions for Armoured Battlegroup

So, while I have been playing for a few years now (since around the release of 7th ed) I have had very little exposure to forgeworld, apart from what my opponents have brought. Recently began looking over Imperial Guard units and options from Imperial Armor books, specifically, the Armoured Battlegroup (from what I have read, it seems that the army is a bit lacking in the current meta, but mostly just looking for fun ways to play AM, not expecting some insane list or to do incredibly well spamming tanks)

But, despite reading reviews and information around online, there are two questions I have that seem to have gone unanswered.

First: is the Armoured Battle group an independent faction, or more Imperial Guard? I know that in IA V1 2ed, it states that either may take an allied detachment of the other as Battle Brothers - but for the purpose of tournaments which limit the number of points that may be spent on Allies, are they one faction or two?

Second: Leman Russ' from IA V1 still have "Lumbering Behemoth," the rule that is absent from the new guard - but the errata for the book does not remove this from the tanks. Do they still have it? If so, what does that mean for ordnance weapons?

Help, patience, and understanding are appreciated.

Lumbering Behemoth from IA1 just makes them heavy vehicles through the rule.

The list is faction AM but tournament organisers place their own restrictions on lists and allies.

The best use of the list is a small allied detatchment while the guard use infantry to take objectives

So a friend sent me a picture this morning from the 5th ed guard codex (that is the book that IA V1 refers you to for the rule) - this is Lumbering Behemoth:

A Leman Russ that moved at Combat Speed or remained stationary can fire its turret weapon in addition to any other weapons it is usually allowed to fire (even if the turret weapon is ordnance). However, a Leman Russ travelling at cruising speed can only move up to D6+6 - roll every time it moves at this speed.

So does that mean AB Lemans can fire ordnance and other guns at full bs?

No it doesn't on pg 21 of IA 1 2nd edition there is an asterisk beside the Lumbering Behemoth special rule. If you look under the options list it states that a Leman Russ uses the rules for heavy vehicles.

Heavy vehicles cannot fire ordnance and all other guns at full BS, only superheavies can.
