LaurieJGoulding
Nothing so predictable. Why don't you wait and see? Not long now... The story was named 'Heloth' because that's the name of the hive ship (just like 'Daedalus' is named for the same reason). Read the novel and you'll find out why. Rumours at GW that it was named after my cat Helo are unfounded, although he did destroy my Scythes of the Emperor army by knocking over a glass display case once. The truth is, Demetris Tampakoudis suggested that I name a ship the Helot, which inspired a hive ship called Heloth instead. LaurieJGoulding
Okay, I think we need to define "spoilers"... because I was just glibly responding to HeritorA. If you read them, they're not actually spoilers. In fact, they're extracts from the story that I've shared pretty widely when I was writing it, and they don't really give anything away. But whatever. It's cool that you got to put the little buttons in there. I enjoy clicking on them. "Atreides", while being a reference to THE GREATEST NOVEL OF ALL TIME, is actually from the Greek meaning "descended from Atreus", i.e. noble and to be respected. I suppose it would be something like having the surname Goodman or King, in English. Yeah, Frank Herbert wasn't so very subtle... but not many people notice, so that's fine. Laurie I knew Atreides was Greek but had never bothered to look into the meaning but that is interesting (and clearly subtle enough to work on me lol). Dune = The Greatest SCIENCE FICTION novel of all time ... Yes co sign (unsurprisingly). Personally I have always loved the ambition and almost impenetrable nature of God Emperor of Dune. Personally would love to see that level of ambition applied to some books from BL but suspect that might be a step too far for tie in fiction? Right so going off topic so back on... Beyond Heloth and Giant's Coffin are you planning more Scythes stories?
