There's the two compendiums - Sabbat Worlds & Sabbat Crusade.

Sabbat Crusade definitely contains stuff set in between Salvation Reach and Warmarster.

Also Double Eagle and Titanicus are set in the series but don't involved Gaunt.

  • First and Only (pub. 1999)
  • Ghostmaker (anthology with new material, each story focusing on a different character; pub. 2000)
  • Necropolis (pub. 2001)
  • Honour Guard (pub. 2001)
  • The Guns of Tanith (pub. 2002)
  • Straight Silver (pub. 2002)
  • Sabbat Martyr (pub. 2003)
  • Double Eagle (pub. 2004)
  • Traitor General (pub. 2004)
  • His Last Command (pub 2005)
  • Sabbat Crusade Background Book (illustrated edition; pub 2005)
  • The Armour of Contempt (pub 2006)
  • Tactica Imperialis (illustrated edition; pub. 2007)
  • Only in Death (pub. 2008)
  • Sabbat Worlds Anthology (in particular 'The Iron Star'; pub. 2010)
  • Titanicus (pub. 2008)
  • Blood Pact (pub. 2009)
  • Salvation's Reach (pub. 2011, also released as a wonderful audiobook capturing each of the cultures sooooo well: google it, test it out, buy it!)
  • Sabbat Crusade Anthology (pub. 2014)
  • The Warmaster (upcoming)
  • Urdesh (by Matthew Farrer, upcoming)

To account chronologically for the short stories, it gets more complicated, especially in relation to First and Only and Ghostmaker, so it's best to just read the anthologies in their designated points biggrin.png

So much lovely goodness...I may have to start reading them ALL again in preparation for Warmaster and Urdesh (bit daunting though lol)

*cough*Necropolis is the best one!*cough* :D

No for me. I love Traitor General. It is one of my fav BL books ever. Even though I know some people complain about one specific event in that book...to me that was part of what made it so awesome and after all the other books to that point, so surprising in terms of the outcome!

Oh and I will say one word to describe the awesomeness ... WIREWOLVES

Well, color me pleasantly surprised. I was half-convinced we would never get another one of these.

Or Penitent. Please, Dan, please.

I really hope Penitent comes out sometime this decade.

Anyway, I can't think of any Gaunts ghosts book I'd say is my favorite, but I really enjoyed Necropolis.

I wonder if Warmaster has been written to end the series, though? :(

Unless Urdesh is set to be released before Warmaster, I'd say that's doubtful.

True, or at least there won't be a further arc after Warmaster/Archon perhaps? He used to mention a further arc. Which would be a shame as Salvation's Reach especially set many new wheels in motion.

Yeah, but Titanicus has 1 sentence in common with the Sabbat Worlds Crusade - the world Orestes is placed in it's borders, lol.

This just popped up on Black Library

Excellent news. Also means we will get Urdesh by Matt Farrer around the same time. Awesome. About bloody time lol

Exactly. I want to read Urdesh more. That little snippet of Ithaka Snakes butchering Sons of Sek was amazing!

Or Penitent. Please, Dan, please.

Penitent hasn't been even started yet - stop waiting for it or you will die from an old age.

Well unless Dan returns to his previous GG/BL level of output then we will probably not get Archon until 2023

Exactly

I do wonder if Warmaster and then Archon will be the end of the GG series? Always struck me as odd that this arc is called The Victory! Unless that is meant to be misleading or ironic?

Someone above mentions Warmaster possibly being rewritten as the last book. I really really hope not! Ignoring how long it has taken for Warmaster to get written, I do hope Archon is delivered!

Id love it if Nik Vincent could take over more, if Dan is less likely to continue, although she is writing her own fiction too. I'm not sure who else catches her husband's mix of often beautiful language, excellent characterisation and world building alongside his restrained use of violence.
