defl0
Ok... This is a can of worms, but here we go. If I attach an IC to a brother-hood of psykjer squad, and the IC casts a power (like iron arm) that targets the psyker, does the whole units get the blessing? My knee jerk reactions was NO! But I think rules actually say you do... Thoughts? Support rules: 40k FAQ Q: How does a power that targets ‘the Psyker’ but not his unit work on a unit with Brotherhood of Psykers? If, for example, a Wyrdvane Psyker squad casts Iron Arm, does one model nominated as ‘the caster’ receive the benefits? A: The power applies to all ‘Brotherhood of Psykers’ models in the unit Brotherhood of Psykers BBB "A unit containing at least one model with this special rule is a Psyker unit" Independent Characters BBB "While an Independent Character is part of a unit, he counts as part of the unit for all rules purposes, though he still follows the rules for characters." Halandaar
Nope. http://i1359.photobucket.com/albums/q797/halandaar/Warhammer/Forum%20Images/unnamed-251-472x317_zpsfgunmo1z.jpg Special rules are not transferred between ICs and units, therefore the IC can never have "Brotherhood of Psykers" on him, despite being in a unit that has the rule itself. Because of that, Iron Arm affects either the IC (if cast by him) or the unit (if cast by them). defl0
Cool. Yeah, it looks like ICs don't get BoS, you can't really transfer psychic powers back and forth. Which, IMO is probably a good thing Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/330787-thousand-sons-brotherhood-of-psykerrs/#findComment-4650337 Share on other sites
Withershadow
It would be a double-edged sword, because then the IC would be included in the Brotherhood's mastery level, thus technically losing his own ability to use separate powers or his mastery level.
