Great frost blade ideas and sources

Well, there's a two-handed wolfy power axe as part of the normal 40k plastic SW kit. The axes that come with the wolf guard terminators and the thunderwolf riders are a bit more subtle, lots of runes; they've one handed but would work better in two hands. There's the frost weapons belonging to the 40k plastic wulfen; they have a cool jagged look but they're bloody big even for the wulfen, so they might be too massive for a normal PA marine or even a terminator.

- The classic two-handers are the grey knights force swords, popular and cheap to pick up on bits sites. They come with PA and terminator arms that will fit well but they don't look very Fenrisian or particularly icy. Maybe for Terran warriors?

- There's the two-handed chainswords from the FW close combat upgrade kits, they would absolutely do if you gave them an ice effect. The eviscerators from the 40k assault marines would do too.

- Axes from the WHFB dwarf longbeards? Heavily armoured gauntlets, lots of runes and knotwork. Nice thing here is that you would also get a heap of single-handed axes and combat shields to spread around grey slayers and other rank-and-file.

- A decent looking option might be to take the heads from FW's cataphractii power axes and give them longer hafts, maybe from the NL chainglaives? The heads have a sexy viking-ish bearded axe look and the hafts have a good curve on them. That curve puts me in mind of Adrian Smith's old drawings of WHFB norse barbarians, makes for a good look and a strong swing

- You might find the WHFB chaos warrior great weapons would work. Trim the arrows a little and they're not unduly chaotic. Might be the most economical option.

Thanks for all the ideas guys I'll have a look this evening after work. My only issue with the SW upgrade set weapons is I already have them on some minis and don't want to much "sameyness" if that makes sense. I'll probably start a plog shortly once I get my hobby mojo going again
