When do you declare what save you are rolling?

This came up as a discussion. As Custards can have 2+ and 3++ rerollable which is better than 2+ when do they actually have to declare what save they are rolling?

 

I mean if someone wants to be that guy can he declare he is rolling for armor or invu save after the roll? This would make a difference as if he rolls a 2 and decided it was armor roll save instead of invu save.

Otherwise you could cheat. Without saying what you are rolling for then there are no parameters for success/ fail.

Frankly, I'm surprised that someone has a point of view other than common sense.

Officially the rules used to say you use the best save (I believe it is faqed that you get to choose now though), so I would go with the roll most likely to save the wound unless declared. (i.e. it is always 3++ rerollable unless the controlling player says otherwise.)

It's the player's choice now, used to be 'best available'. 

 

You do have to declare which save you're using. Never had anyone not do so.
