Tank Stowage

Recommended Posts

So I decided to go back and add some stowage to my fleet of Rhinos & Razorbacks, and my question to the community is how much stowage, do you think, is too much?  I found some examples on the net of course, but a lot of the Space Marine examples just have too much to my eyes.  I just wanted something to spruce them up a little, add some different colors, and sort of "personalize" them so each APC is slightly different from its compatriots.

Do you put stowage on your Marine tanks?  A lot?  A little?  Anyone have examples they'd like to share?

I added a load to my Siege of Terra White Scars but they were essentially a nomadic tank column behind enemy lines carrying everything with them. Normally for Marine tanks i wouldnt expect much stowage due to their short deployment times and general self reliance. Things like food, bedding or water just wouldnt be needed. Things like Ammo, Trophies or Spares for the tank should work though!

Seems i only had terrible photos left:

God i used to be even more terrible at photos... Please have mercy on the weathering, i was sleep deprived and enthusiastic! But i think you can see items across the Tanks, mostly a lot of fuel, every tank had at least a few cans or barrels but it is mostly on the rear of the vehicles unhelpfully!

This is the best zoomed in shot i could find and shows all three of my main things badly, Fuel and Shield trophy on the left, Ammo box on the right and a tow cable on top :) The Stowage is generally on the rear third of the vehicle, especially on the rear of the track units and behind the second smokestack on the sides (For thin things!).

Hope that helps!

(Oh and never decide to Weather a load of vehicles at like 2am the day before a campaign weekend after churning out 5-6 tanks of various sizes in three days straight)

Not technically a marine tank, but I did a little on my Macharius and plan on doing some similar things on my Dusk Raiders Stormblade.

A tow cable and spare (or worn out) tracks stowed in a place to also act as extra armor.

Various items secured to the back of the turret and some bedrolls on top of one of the sponsons.

Being marine vehicles, you wouldn't need to do normal human comfort stuff, like bedrolls, foul weather gear, extra food or water, etc.
