Does it only matter against multi-wound opponents that it can't ID? Or does every wound against, say, a tactical squad, kill d3 models? Slips Posted March 1, 2017 Share Posted March 1, 2017 The D3 Extra Wounds are only applied to the model that is taking the initial wound. So a Castellax would take 1+d3 wounds that don't spill over if he dies to them. A Tactical Squad would only lose 1 model per initial wound (before the 4+ Roll to determine severing cut). Both in rules and lore terms, that's really the primary purpose of Leviathans, being a hard counter to Mechanicum.
