Air travel with Citadel paints

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have any experience or recommendations for flying with Citadel paints?  I am in the process of moving overseas and with all the progress I have made the past year with my painting skills I am reluctant to leave the hobby behind.  I have about 100 paint pots in total, with about 10 or so washes.  The general plan was to stuff the majority into a gallon ziplock, triple bag them, and place into my checked luggage.  I was going to carry on the washes out of fear that pressure changes may make them leak.  Should I go as far as to tape each pot shut?  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

I travel a ton and take my stuff with me on occasion. get some masking tape and put it over the top of each pot, then wrap each one in a bit of paper towel or toilet paper. Then put em in a ziplock and get as much air out as you can. Then take those bags and put em in your checked bag. If you have room wrap the bags in a cheap towel. I've only ever had one pot of paint come open in about 20 trips.

Should be no issue, and I fully endorse taking your hobbies with you!

Thank you for the responses and the good tips.  I will definitely give the masking tape and paper towels a shot.  Apologies about the redundant topic; I hadn't thought to look outside of the Forge section for more information.  Anyways, back to packing.
