Beginning Army Help

I'm sorry if I am posting this in the wrong place, it seemed like the best spot.

 

I have very recently gotten into WH40k and just started a Chaos army, and would like feedback on my painting, as well as suggestions on what to add next. I currently have two units of Khorne Berzerkers, a Rhino, and one unit of chaos cultists, and I plan to pick up Khârn for the ability to use the berzerkers as troops. Is this a good idea or should I do something else?

the painting looks like a very solid start, but they lack a bit of depth, due to a missing shading, followed by a little highlight on the reds, but i guess to keep it manageable and not getting lost in "details", i'd stick with just a careful recess shading with nuln oil and completing the models to the right up the standard of the left, that gives you a reasonable good level of completion and of course you can come back later for highlighting and more details.

 

on expanding, i would skip Khârn, he is a cool dude no question but i always feel named characters, especially for a beginner, tend to eat too many points while not being able to get enough bang for your buck so i would look into getting something fancy that can make some more dakka to kill enemy tanks and a regular hq model so you can set up a normal combined arms detachment.

Alright, thanks for the tips. I will definitely take those things to heart, especially the shading/highlighting.

If you would like to use Bezerkers as troops, you might want to consider the Khorne Daemonkin codex. It is pretty darn neat.
