Rise of the VIIth Legion (Heresy Era Iron Fists)

I bought a Betrayal at Calth box last week, after a lot of weeks of chat with some 30K friend players. I´ve always loved the Imperial Fists armours, but they seemed too difficult to paint. I´ve made a few tests and i think that i´ve managed to reach a relative fast and easy way to paint those damned yellow colours.

This is my very first Imperial Fists marine, and from this i´ll build my 30K army.

Critics and comments are always welcome. Please, keep in mind that this miniature was a scheme test and that it´s just a tactical marine and i need to paint these units fast.

 

As yesterday i didn´t have a lot of time to paint, i decided to work on a small conversión i´ve been thinking a few weeks. Here you have my Betrayal at Calth converted Contemptor Dreadnaught:

I think that the original model is very static and i wanted to give him a bit of movement.

That yellow is amazing, a whole squad of them is going to look gorgeous. The battle damage too is top notch. Nice and simple with the contemptor, I like the Fist symbols and the aquilla is a good touch, pose is great especially seeing how static the original starts as. I look forward to more!

He looks great - I especially like the pairing of the yellow you've chosen with the red earth base - the dust on his greaves really tie the two together.

Doubling the opinion on the paintjob - looks damn good to me.

Also love the conversion. Will keep my eye on that.
