Dr_Ruminahui
I use the old stormtrooper models, though this did require some conversion for heavy weapons and the sergeant options I wanted. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a396/Dr_Ruminahui/Imperial%20Guard/IMG_0614.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a396/Dr_Ruminahui/Imperial%20Guard/IMG_0629.jpg I also use arbites. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a396/Dr_Ruminahui/Arbites/Arbites1.jpg Inquisitor Psychologis Ruminahui Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/332129-modelling-veterans/page/2/#findComment-4693701 Share on other sites
WarriorFish
Great work on the conversion, the colour scheme in particular is really nice too :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/332129-modelling-veterans/page/2/#findComment-4693703 Share on other sites
elmo
My initial vets where just standard Cadians with the special weapons option... Then I used scion beret heads, weapons and arms on Cadian bodies. Alternatively and if you are lucky enough to be able to get them - my firm favourite is Kasrkin Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/332129-modelling-veterans/page/2/#findComment-4693713 Share on other sites
Otto von Bludd
It must have been a nightmare to remove all those Kasrkin heads. I tried once and gave up. Any tips? Slave to Darkness
If you fancy shotguns the Stealer Hybrid box has loads of nice boomsticks, could throw in some autoguns as well. Id go for non standard kit, bits have got lost or damaged over the course of the campaign so they have to make do with what they have laying around, or scruffy bearded heads from the fantasy empire range, heads with bandages or eye patches, sleeveless arms etc. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/332129-modelling-veterans/page/2/#findComment-4693784 Share on other sites

Dr_Ruminahui
I prefer a [link=http://www.fdjtool.com/custom.aspx?id=117] jewler's saw [/link], as it allows you to get behind details that you would have to saw through with a dremel - though I have one of those too. Anyway, a jewler's saw is what I used to get rid of the hellgun from the stormtrooper I gave the rocket launcher to. Canadian_F_H
Well... I'm sold on the beret heads... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/332129-modelling-veterans/page/2/#findComment-4694428 Share on other sites
WarriorFish
The good thing is the Scion box is chock full of heads and helmets - more than enough to share around ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/332129-modelling-veterans/page/2/#findComment-4694560 Share on other sites
elmo
You can never have enough beret heads ;) By dremel I was not making myself very clear - apologies :( I meant that I use a dremel with a high speed cutter bit for the neck recess. I used a saw to remove most of the head. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/332129-modelling-veterans/page/2/#findComment-4694571 Share on other sites
