hydra89
Legion: World eaters RoW: Zone mortalis assault force HQ: Legion Delegatus, boarding shied, power fist, artificer armour Elite: Veteran tactical squad, 5 x combi-plasma, sgt power fist and artificer armour (outflank) Contemptor-cortus, plasma cannon Troops: Terminator squad, 5 x combi-plasma, sgt thunder hammer (deep strike) Breacher squad, 2 x flamers, nuncio-vox, sgt power fist and artificer armour Tactical support squad, 5 x flamers Total 1000 points The Delegatus goes with the breachers, the contemptor provides fire support with a plasma cannon with shred. The terminators deep strike and hopefully plasma something expensive and the veterans outflank and hopefully do the same or become a pain in the back field. Not 100% on the support squad, I like the idea of 5 flamers with shred but not sure. What are peoples thoughts? Emperors Teeth
Anything with 1k ZM in the title draws my attention. I love this type of game. I have observed that generally in ZM, when two units meet, one typically deletes the other within a turn or two and then moves on. Therefore you need to be one of two things, survivable or killy. A few things catch my eye in your list: - The veteran Tactical squad is small, expensive, but killy. Being just five men though, I think you'd get more mileage out of a small unit of Seekers. Sure, without a Vigilator as your HQ, they can't Outflank, but you don't really need to add plasma combis to the unit, as those ammo types really come in to play in ZM, and their other rules, too. - The Contemptor is cool. I like the plasma cannon in ZM for the same reason as any blast weapon. If you can scrounge the points, get a Chainfist on there in case he meets another Dreadnought. - I actually like the flamer squad. I ran a 5-man plasma squad and whilst they made a hole in a Terminator unit, they also swiftly died. For almost half the cost, if your flamers get close enough to fire, they're gonna make a mess of anything with the number of hits you'll generate. I'd be wary making the unit any larger as the corridor-width could mess up your ability to fire with more than a handful of template weapons. - Whichever unit has got the Nuncio Vox on should probably run for the first couple turns, to get as deep into the board as possible. I assume you want to use it for accurate Deep Striking? An Infiltrating unit would be most useful in this capacity, but I'm not sure if you have access to any? hydra89
thank you for your reply and input mate. I really wanted to squeeze in a seeker squad as I agree with your points on the ammo and the mark of death special rule and BS 5 are good too. However as half the army starts in reserve I thought outflank would be useful. That's a really good point on the chainfist for the dreadnought, I shall find the points to add one. Thanks for the feedback on the flamers that helps. The vox is in the breacher squad which I will be trying to get as far up the board as possible to help my terminators deep strike within rapid fire range for their combi-plasmas to do some damage. cheers for the feedback Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/332167-1k-zone-mortalis-list/#findComment-4690481 Share on other sites
Varyn
I'd go for close combat weapon and chainfist on the cortus and then a couple of grav guns, it's a great combo for ZM. The bonuses that the cortus gets are pretty much all geared towards assault or getting into assault. Laughingman
You guys playing with Stratagem points? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/332167-1k-zone-mortalis-list/#findComment-4690665 Share on other sites
hydra89
we don't play stratagem point. I have found the cortus dies pretty quick without any save in close combat. That's why I've gone for range as there isn't much that can threaten it from a distance. cheers for the feedback guys Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/332167-1k-zone-mortalis-list/#findComment-4692077 Share on other sites

Sgt power fist and artificer armour. 5 man terminator squad, 3 x combi-plasma, plasma blaster. sgt chain fist and combi-plasma (deep strike). total 1000 points After looking at you guys points I decided to add the chain fist to the contemptor and have tried to make my squads more survivable by adding more men to them.
