Elar
Hello Everyone! I've been a fan of Asterion Moloc since the FW release and recently I started a 30k Imperial fist project. The idea was to incorporate a champion of some kind in my elite, which I'm planning to use Cataphractii, so I thought it would be a pretty sweet idea to mix both. I've examined the mini well and my problem comes with his head. In order to do the conversion I wanted to change the angle of his helmet, So the question is; Has anyone tryed this or knows if it would be possible? Cause every head conversion I find seems to have lost the helm on the proccess. Thanks in advance! Major_Gilbear
Hi and welcome to B&C! :) Firstly, Asterion Moloch is wearing a modified version of Tartaros-pattern Terminator armour, not Cataphactii-pattern. Secondly, his head comes moulded into the torso and legs as a single piece. Therefore, it is very hard to change the angle or alter it without damaging it in some way. Even if you very neatly cut it out without damage, you would still need to re-sculpt the lower left part of the head that's hidden by the original model's pose. Here he is on the left (with Chaplain Enkomi on the right): http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NzY4WDEwMDM=/z/pRcAAOSwbYZXdueG/$_57.JPG Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/332197-imperial-fist-champion/#findComment-4690370 Share on other sites
Elar
Thank you very much for the welcome and the information Major! and sorry for the late reply. The hype kinda overwhelmed me and I ended up buying this blister. You are right though, it was extremely hard to do so without damaging it, so I made some minor changes and ended up looking like this: http://i926.photobucket.com/albums/ad102/John_elar/20170328_165027_zpsvr8aiwrd.jpghttp://i926.photobucket.com/albums/ad102/John_elar/20170328_165041_zpsa0p6fjrk.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/332197-imperial-fist-champion/#findComment-4699466 Share on other sites
battle captain corpus
Personally I would try the crest running on the top of his armour the other way, so it adds to the sense of movement. Nice work so far! BCC Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/332197-imperial-fist-champion/#findComment-4699696 Share on other sites
Elar
Thank you! That was my first idea! ^^ The problem, although a bit silly, kinda killed me everytime I saw it, was, the pattern in the metal part of the crest has a different pattern on each side and it looked wierd. Maybe I should try greenstuffin it, thanks for the thought though! Major_Gilbear
I think it looks good as-is, well done. :) If you prefer, a shorter angled crest (like this one for example) may be more suitable if you want to have it running front-to-back.
