Ascanius
I'm sure it comes across as an odd suggestion, but I find that poorer prose works better in audio form. I don't know about this specifically, but I have a piggyback recommendation: try to avoid "bolter porn" in audio format, unless you really love descriptions of shooting and swordfighting. When I come across a tedious description of a fight in a written novel, I can skim through it quickly to pick out bits that are of real interest or at least find the end of the passage quickly. When it's part of an audio book, there's no real way to do that; you have to listen to the whole damn thing. bluntblade
I find that really depends on the author. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/332247-audio-book-recommendation/page/2/#findComment-4696222 Share on other sites

Probably because when I listen to audiobooks I'm also doing something else, so I can just tune out of anything tedious or annoying, and tune back in when things get good again. I have an odd compulsion when reading to never skim, for some reason I fear missing something important in the written word far more than when simply hearing it. HeritorA
I find that really depends on the author. That greatly depend on the author. RoomskyIn general most of us do something while listening to audios - painting, driving, walking... If I had problem with audio (volume or voiceover) I simply stop listening and get back to it later Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/332247-audio-book-recommendation/page/2/#findComment-4696343 Share on other sites
Khornflakes
Would recommend 'Chosen of Khorne' as an audio drama. one of the best i've listed to for an insight into what's happening in Khârn's head and in reality. Audio Book - Talon of Horus, definitely. A little bit of an epicness Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/332247-audio-book-recommendation/page/2/#findComment-4696671 Share on other sites
