I am happy with this chap. He only took a little over three days from building to completion and I think he turned out okay. I phoned the base in a little. The marble head looks cool, but the rest was a rush job. It was 11:30pm, and I just wanted him done.

I may return to the sword and the flames in the future, just to sort them out, but now, it's time for Cypher!

The base was phoned in he says, a rush job he says, while I see a Chaps Space Marine Corpse with the black armor meticulously edge highlighted... rolleyesclean.gif

Sarcasm aside the model looks gorgeous, the armor itself is a nicely executed blue and a clean gold but it's in the secondary details like the highlights on the laurel wreath, the skin tones and eyes, the red grip of the sword, that the quality of the paint job really pops out. I also like your version of the sword better than GW's, I think extending the shifting lines of the fire along the rest of the blade really helps give the flames the illusion of movement and dynamism.

Looks great.

As far as the sword goes, the only thing that could stand to be altered a little is maybe add a tiny bit more red to the ends of the flames.

But don't take my word for it, that's far beyond what I'm capable of. My models are decent table top quality, but nothing like that.

Glad you like fellas.

I'm with you on the sword. The truth is, I like my Ultramarines, I really do, but they are more a secondary army. So whilst I wanted him to look good, my heart wasn't in the project as much as it could be. I also have a stupidly long list of things to paint, and I had to stop at some point. I think the contrasting could be much better on the sword, but I don't have the time to do much more on him. :(

Thanks chaps. Glad people like him! :D

He's actually a really nice model when you have him built. I don't think the pictures do him justice at all. And the Hand of Dominion seems okay. But to be totally honest the space between his shoulders and his back pack are pretty close too. My guess is that the wings move with his shoulders, or at least they hopefully do. :D
