bluntblade
I'm going to purchase some BL books shortly, and I'd like to make some progress towards Praetorian of Dorn. So far I've read Crimson Fist and The Lightning Tower - probably going to grab Legion, but what else is there that I need? Marshal Loss
Crimson Fist & Legion are all you need. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/332435-background-reading-for-pod/#findComment-4696174 Share on other sites
DarkChaplain
Shadows of Treachery for TLT and TCF, Legion, maybe The Primarchs for The Serpent Beneath to show the weird schism in the AL. There are a bunch of minor ties to other works or characters being elsewhere before, but nothing too urgent if I remember correctly. Sandlemad
Maybe some of the other stuff about Dorn's fortification of Terra? The Lightning Tower is a good start but possibly Blood Games (from Tales of Heresy). Rob Sanders' Hands of the Emperor (in War Without End) also has good stuff about the fists' defences. None of this is essential by any means but it's interesting background. What DC said - Shadows of Treachery and Legion - which are amazing, but in general they simply show how AL operates and the shift in their paradigm. Serpent Beneath is a must - it has several moments that will give direct glimpses into AL in PoD.
