ShadowCore67 Posted March 29, 2017 Share Posted March 29, 2017 Sorry if this has already been brought up but what are your thoughts on bikes vs. Jetbikes for command squads? For a max size command squad, it costs 100 more points for jetbikes over bikes. Is that 100 points worth it? I used to think it was because of the 2+ armor and heavy bolters but now that command squads have 2+ armor base I'm not sure if it's worth it anymore. The one case where I can maybe see it is Dark Angels so the jetbikes have acid shells, but even then that's an extra 25 points It's a shame because I really like the theme of a jetbike command squad but 100 points is a bit much for me to ignore for personal taste. I also just really like the models vs normal bikes. Sure they are really expensive but performance wide totally worth it. I'd attach a Primus Medicae to the squad. T5 2+ is a big deal. The squad will already be a points sink and Dark Angels are the only ones who benefit enough from getting heavy bolters (but they probably still shouldn't take them as a command squad is often an assault ellement and shooting upgrades run the cost too high.) You can spring for the jetbikes that are overall better, but when it comes to points I'd probably stick with bikes.
