joschlumpf
Hi to all! Maybe you guys can help me. My Marines have their shoulderpads in a bright redorange. Because Blazing Orange is no longer available I switched to Wild Rider Red. Problem is the paint seems to dry while painting. I always get brushstrokes and little "crumbs?" (if you can call it like that). Thinning down the paint doesn´t help and the brush is new. Is this a common problem? Did I missed something in Duncans videos? battle captain corpus
Did you shake the paint? For like a good couple of minutes? Sounds silly but this does really help. Failing that take it back and GW will swap it. joschlumpf
I shaked it of course but maybe not long enough, if you say a couple of minutes. I will try that, thanks. Ciler
If a good shake does not address the issue, it is possible you got a defective batch of paint. If your local store isn't too far away, go and let them know, they may replace it. Claws and Effect
Try adding a few drops of water to the jar and shaking the bejeezus out of it. That's how I brought back an almost dry jar of Leadbelcher. Stoic Raptor
Actually, you might want to try stirring some Lahmian Medium into it. Water's not going to do anything that thinning it on your palette won't, so if it's crumbly when you thin it, it'll still be crumbly if you add water to the jar. Lahmian Medium is basically the fluid into which pigment is suspended. From what you describe, the pigment doesn't have enough of that "carrier" any more, this might solve it. Otherwise, you've got a bad pot. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/332578-problems-with-wild-rider-red/#findComment-4701166 Share on other sites
