Kais Klip
Slighty too "poppy" for my taste - the colours are like bubblebug. But everything is really well defined, and I like how you added barrel weathering to stuff. Seems like cartoon tanks gone to actual war, but those are really nice cartoons eh Edit: bubblebug? bubblebum. Bat33.1
They aren't quite as bright as they look in the pictures it's because it's clear coat over metal the metal reflects more when photographed. The Alpha Legion Raptor is pretty much identical to the FW scheme but yeah bubblegum lol ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/332622-alpha-legion-and-emperors-children-showcase/#findComment-4702691 Share on other sites
Kais Klip
Yeah, that's pretty much the tragedy of all paintjob photos, it really is one of those things you can only really appreciate in person. I really like the faded iconography you accomplished on the tail of that Alpha Legion gunship; how did you do that? I've been thinking if its possible to weather, or at the very least shade/wash transfers, since they tend to look so out of place if they're just stuck on vanilla. The one inside the tail fin is the FW green AL decal but it's quite close in shade to the paint so it looks very subtle and true AL style. Lots of decal softner is needed to get it down without wrinkles in that area, I use Daco Red which is the strongest solution I've found, they have green, orange and red with different strengths. It took 3 applications but it moulded in fine to the detail, oh and the best tip I was ever told for decals if you've not tried them before always apply decals after a coat of gloss varnish they work much better that way :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/332622-alpha-legion-and-emperors-children-showcase/#findComment-4703574 Share on other sites
