With the advent of Shadow War Armageddon, I wanted to play and paint something different than my usual norm, Blood Angels.

 

I wanted to play power armor, but alas scouts were the faction unit. I then read over the others and settled on CSM. After reading the fold out fluff, I settled on Renegades.

 

Mantis Warriors had some cool fluff from Badab War and they were Sessionists and Renegades, although they were forgiven upon completion of a 100 year Penatance Crusade, which I believe they are still on at the time of setting of Shadow War.

 

So...we have a "blacksheild" Mantis Warrior Kill Team using CSM rules for Shadow War.

 

As for Cultists, I'll have generic ones, no overtly chaos anything.

 

First 1000pt List consists of

Champion with BG and Camo

3x CSM troop with BG and Camo

1x CSM specialist with BG and Camo

2x Cultists one with additional knife

 

First Two Mantis Warriors

Shoulder Pads are from PopGoesTheMonkey on Shapeways

 

Probably going to go back and add some camo rolls from Scouts to these guy's Backpacks. Tranquility Camo of course.

Seriously great looking stuff hope your going to write up/post pics of the journey there going to have to travel to reach the emperors light in the eyes of other space marine chapters.

Sure. Its very Very Easy. Two Coats of Ulthuan Grey, Then as Many Washes of Casandora Yellow as you like till you achieve a good color you are happy with. I believe I did 2-4 on average.
