WhalenOnFools
Hi, guys!I'm debating getting back into the hobby after a handful of years away, and into 30K for the first time. Because I'm a sap and can't abandon my beloved Blood Angels, I threw together this quick list. Lemme know what you all think!Whalenonfools' 1350 points of crimson-armored goodness: ROW: Chosen Duty HQLegion Praetor (187)Paragon Blade, Volkite Charger, Cataphractii Terminator Armor Digital LasersIron Halo TroopsLegion Assault Squad (190)Sergeant with Heavy Chainsword and Artificer Armor 9 Assault Marines with Bolt Pistols and Chainswords Jump Packs Legion Veteran Tactical Squad (190)Legion VexillaVeteran Sergeant with Power Weapon 9 Legion Veterans with Bolt Pistols and Close Combat Weapons Veteran Tactics: Weaponmasters Legion Veteran Tactical Squad (225) Legion Vexilla Flamer Heavy Bolter and Suspensor Web Veteran Sergeant with Power Fist Veteran Tactics: Marksmen Elites 5 Cataphractii Terminators (229)2 Combi-Weapons Chainfist Power Fist Thunder Hammer 1 Iliastus-Pattern Assault Cannon Heavy Support Leviathan Dreadnought Talon [1] (320) 2x Leviathan Storm Cannon 2x Twin-Linked Volkite Cavaliers TOTAL: 1,341/1,350 Uh, as far as tactics go: The Praetor and his Terminator homies teleport around the board and wreak havoc, whilst the shooty Tactical Squad sits on one objective, the close-combat Tactical Squad sits on another (and hopefully doesn't get wiped off the board), Stormboyz ASSAULT MARINES bounce around the board and don't engage anything too much more powerful than them, and the Dreadnought hangs out and looks imposing and hopefully deals with flyers or enemy armor. dankmemes
That assault squad costs 290pts, not 190pts. The default assault squad is pretty expensive, so instead if you are going to get jump infantry get a legion-specific jump infantry. The Ultramarine and the raven guard have good jump infantry. I think you may have the older rulebook man, 190 is the correct points cost for that Assault squad. Can I ask if there is any reason behind making a list for 1350 points? Unknown Legionnaire
Couple things: - I would select a cheaper HQ at this points level. - A Praetor cannot pick Chosen Duty, only a Delegatus can. My suggestion would be to run either a jump oriented RoW with a Praetor, or Vet Tac oriented with a Delegatus. Take a look at Day of Revelation, Drop Assault Vanguard and Chosen Duty again to find a focus. - Footsloggin' units need transports. - As with the rest of the list, the Leviathan lacks focus a well.
