I will be updating this thread periodically over the day with how the match will go. It won't be words = pictures but it will be meshed together so that you guys will stay engaged :D We were running 3000 points with Horus being the only LoW. I ran the Long March RoW and Pauly (my opponent) curiously ran a recon company for his BAs :O most of his units got a scout move and/or infiltrate so they were right on top of me turn one: http://i911.photobucket.com/albums/ac316/treacyjohn2/2FBE3E8E-A326-419A-A07F-6B6EA52AA2EA_zpsfrlkwljs.jpg I kept Horus & friends, my Levi, and the Destroyer squad in reserve with the last two outflanking due to dad. Pauly deployed his "V" of angels with 3 or 4 Contemptors leading the speartip. I had two vet squads and Reavers deploy in the v with my rapiers,lascannons, and Cortus in the rear. http://i911.photobucket.com/albums/ac316/treacyjohn2/7DBCF38B-2238-45DB-AFB9-49681C0AF18D_zpse9qw1gob.jpg Pauly was up in my face turn one and destroyed both vet squads plus the Reavers after I charged with 2 of the 3 squads by my turn. BAs in assault are no joke. I even had my vets die to a scout squad <_< My terminator command squad charges out of their damaged Dreadclaw and obliterate a Contemptor only to be gunned down by mass rotor cannon and lightning gun shots from his vorax. Don't let anyone tell you they are garbage haha. http://i911.photobucket.com/albums/ac316/treacyjohn2/16C38B60-7570-4B9F-BA11-4647B8A53E6C_zpsv6dtw5e7.jpg By turn 2/3 Pauly is kicking my but on objectives as he had a metric crap ton of scoring units and had effectively neutered mine. I resolved myself to go for the tabling since there could be no way I could catch him in scoring objectives. Hilariously, in the picture above, many things happened. First of all, I managed to get consistent hammer of wrath kills with each unit every turn of the game (the ones that could). Secondly, the depleted BA bike squad charged my lascannon dudes who had totally been friendly the entire game :P sure enough, they beat BLOOD ANGEL BIKERS IN CLOSE COMBAT. They must have poked them in the eyes or used the lascannons as a baseball bat. Thirdly, and the crown jewel of the game, was watching Horus come in and eat a Praetor, sergeant, and vigilator, only to have a basic chainsword and shield guy save 6! 6!!!! Fricking Horus Talon attacks with a combat shield. This dude was then chucked by Horus into orbit where it is unlikely the poor marine died. It is rumored to this day he was promoted to a veteran sergeant where he is still tanking Primarch attacks with his little shield :D http://i911.photobucket.com/albums/ac316/treacyjohn2/9353C13B-7161-4FA5-B747-DB49F21D4AA1_zps1drh0aoy.jpg The game comes to an end with me nearly tabling Pauly with Horus, his Justaerin guard (without a single loss, but wounded and with the chaplain), and the Dreadclaw surviving. He had his two speeders, the Raptor, and a 5 man sniper squad still alive, leaving him with a victory point win at 20-5. Amazing game even though I lost, I think we both felt like we won. It was super thematic and Pauly remarked how true to the fluff it was with Horus cutting a swath through the Blood Angel ranks only to have a few left to complete their mission by holding to the last. Loving the application of all the decals on the Blood Angel models (best bikes I've seen) and with all the wear and tear on both armies, it really feels as if they are all battle-scarred veterans fighting for years!
