Shadow War: Armageddon Chaos Kill Team

Brothers,

I may have betrayed my Ultramarines by painting these archenemies, but as soon as those free rules were up, I simply had to go through my chaos bits box and start working on these. smile.png

Can't wait for my first game, hopefully in early May.

Aspiring Champion (Bolt pistol) 250 pts

Chaos Space Marine (Boltgun, Camo gear) 160 pts

Chaos Space Marine (additional Combat blade) 125 pts

Total: 1000 pts

If I decide to play a campaign, I'll probably rip out their arms and magnetize because I was too lazy to do it the first time around.

Currently considering some additional models and specialists.

Fantastic work. Perhaps it's my monitor, but these are supposed to be Word Bearers red, right? Bloodsaint's comment made me confused.

Also, about that last guy with the freakishly tall horns and the fancy yellow targeting blip on his forehead:

:D ;)

Fantastic work on these guys! I love how medieval they are, thanks to the helmets you have chosen. The champ with the chaos icon is my favourite: Maybe the operation doesn't allow for an entire Dark Crozius, but that's no reason not to preach to the masses, when the chance presents itself ;)

Thank you Brothers for the comments. :)

@Kierdale - Yes, there's some Sternguard legs in there, mainly because of the tabards. :)

@Prot - The age effect is hopefully covered by older marks of armour, while clean paintjobs are in general my style because I'm always afraid that weathering will ruin the mini. ;)

@Bloodsaint - It's not my favourite color either but it's still better than painting white or yellow. ;)

@Augustus - Yes it's Khorne Red, Nuln Oil in recesses, Karak Stone highlight and then Carroburg Crimson all over the place (or was it Bloodletter?). Anyway it's the recipe from Duncan's video back in December 2016. The camo gear is because I had 5 points left to spare and he's crouching. :P

@KrautScientist - I had some of these helmets in my bits box waiting for an opportunity, some of them are from Chaos Terminator/Terminator Lords I believe and some are from WFB. And yes the Dark Monstrance is just an ornament and not a weapon. Figured it'd fit with the Word Bearers theme. :)

I think I've got an idea on how to utilize the AoS Slaughterpriest model that came with White Dwarf. I've got some spawn arms, horns and other fleshy bits, so I'm guessing I'm just going to turn him into a Chaos Spawn for SW:A. Those come on 40mm terminator bases don't they?

  • 1 month later...

I managed to win my first game with this Kill Team and then used 100 points (and another 100 from a promethium cache) to recruit a new fighter. :)

Chaos Gunner (Flamer, Chainsword, Camo gear) 200 pts

The game was against Vincent's Night Lords, hence the Night Lord head on the base.

Hopefully going to play again within the next few weeks. Already working on another addition to the Team.

Oh and the crouching dude now has a black cloth on his back, so his Camo gear makes more sense now. :)
