Calgar's Fury Surprise Release

Seems Black Library has released Calgar's Fury by Paul Kearney unannounced. I assume to celebrate 8th edition being announced. Considering it's about Calgar and by Paul Kearney I assume it's a successor to Calgar's Siege. Thoughts on the surprise release? It came as a shock to me.

Edit: I really need to learn how to spell 'Siege'

I wonder if it's furry over having his star empire snatched away from him by a resurrected relic of the past

'Sir, we have 6 Eldar Avatars coming over the ridge'

'Prepare the Gauntlets of Ultramar'

'Stand down Marny', I've got this one'

'Yes my Primarch...'

But in general - it was not so unexpected - thay discussed it a long time ago even before mentioning at BL Live 2016.

And strangely Kearney do have something with his style and prose that make you turn the pages. To take the most blant and boresome and dogmatic chapter of blue smurfs and make them interesting (and even make you to worry about their well-being and creating several truly likeable characters even for me to say 'wow') - well he truly have something to his writing style yes.gif

And it's absolutely not so bolter-pornish as you would expect (at least not from the start) yes.gif

I guess this is my signal to pick up Calgar's Siege, then.

Finished the novel. The best part is the beginning and atmosphere, writing style.

Middle is the most boredersome and bolter pornish. Ending definitely improved - but still it's lost the charm of the beginning and that dark grim mood from the times of

Abyssal crusade solidly mentioned at last
