What up hobby gangstas

I have decided to embark on a quest to build a 3000pt 3rd company elite force this year. Love the models, the colours and the fluff and so comes my first decision, how to paint them.

Ive done 3 test models and the side of a rhino to kind of get an idea of what to use. I didn't want them too purple or too pink, kind of in the middle to show that they are drifting towards slaanesh with the use of their cacophoni but not quite there yet.

So the the test minis:

And finally marine 1 with scheme in a vehicle

Now I like the 1st, hence doing the vehicle yet I'd like to know your opinions...?

Good to see you making a start on your 3rd Company man! I love the third scheme, it still has the blueish undertones which ties it in to the purple the EC are shown as by Forgeworld...but it also brightens it up and ties it in with the old artwork, it also has an eerie feel to it, kinda ghostly, and that can be a cool version to go with for EC giving in to the corruption of Slaanesh.

Whatever scheme you go with though, the Rhino blends and your spot colour are very harsh. I know flat panels can be harder to achieve a nice gradient, and you obviously have the skills to do it on the individual marines, so I suggest spraying a bit further back and where your colour blends out you can pull the airbrush back and tilt it out in that direction.

Thanks for the feedback guys! I'm still leaning towards 1, but tempted by 2 also. Most likely what I usually do is find a piece done by someone else that I fall in love with and then do it all a totally different way!

Yeah it's not a vehicle I'm using, was just thrown on to see how it looks on vehicles as it can differ alot to marines and it's not had the purple clear put on yet hence the harsh.

I'm going to give them all a blast with Eidolon purple and see how that works with them next
